don't worry you'd get used to seeing a fishless tank after awhile. when i was fishless for a few months i only checked out coral shippments and ignored any fish shippments. if you're looking to entirely eradicate ich in your tank, you must take caution in stocking up corals. like i mentioned above the coral risk bringing the parasite back into your waters disrupting your 8 weeks and you'd have to restart. as much as you try to shake the bag water off you won't be able to get rid of all the water. proper 100% risk free procedures means also putting new corals through fishless qt and your future fishes to be extensively qt before releasing into the main tank. of course lemon pointed out that this is an insignificant risk to healthy fishes but its a very tiny first step towards another ich breakout nonetheless.

not only to new fishes. as extreme precautions new corals are also put to qt through a fishless 8 weeks in a separate tank. this is the safest way but it depends on whether the individual would want to risk it or not. there are but not many who would carry out this

to be safe some people go 8 weeks fishless to combat ich. after waiting 4-6 weeks whats another 2?

bro how are your frags doing? do post pictures of them

my advise is to stop using diamond water. it doesn't filter out all phosphates and silicates present from your tap water so don't treat it to be as good as RO/DI water. the distilled water you're using is good enough on its own. i'm not sure about zeozym but you can try GFO to remove your phosphates. there're many good brands out there like rowa or phosban. but this will only work if you stop using diamond water as top up

perhaps isolating it in a smaller container and flooding it with food would help? i dont have experience with NPS so pardon me if it sounds dumb but don't give up! here's a success story of a Tubastrea micrantha from really bad shape

can dose so many more things! maybe for now you can consider combining top up with mg dosing to save 1 channel. i'm going to do this on mine soon. it would either be vodka water or mg water

very true! i didn't feed mine when i first got them. with the pair in my tank i still considered myself fishless because of their behaviour but they seem to get by on their own. folks on RC also say the same things. currently its almost 2 months with them in so fingers crossed
-
thanks bro, i wouldn't have got it without consulting you though most of the technical info came off the instruction manual too now i'm thinking of the many things i can do with another 4 channels, possibilities are endless! sighh ridiculously addictive hobby

current fishes, yeap i finally broke my many months of fishless record 2x barred spiny basslet, Belonepterygion fasciolatum 2x golden midas, Ecsenius midas i see the basslet on super rare occasions, most recently this week, so i know they're there and surviving. i still regret not getting all 4 of them at the shop the midas seems to more tolerant of each other than expected but i don't fancy my chances of getting a pair so in due time i'll probably let 1 go. anyone wants to own a new midas?

thanks for the comments for those who are interested or don't know this yet, you can 'upgrade' your dosing pump with the following gadgets an extra 4 dosing channels which can be connected to your primary set, meaning you can now choose from pumps 1-7! holders for your pump holders for your tubes even! and matching solution holders
