  1. iwarna still has a quite a number of nice sps from their recent shipment! pinnacle left about 4-5 pieces also from their recent shipment 3x large peppermint shrimps at ahbeng
  2. bro you should join in too don't hesitate! same piece bro. you mean like this? mine's on the sand bed under 4x24w t5. i won't say its high lighting. i find montis hard to hold colour. the blue polyp one lightened up on the sand bed while my pokerstar (just beside it) darkened. different specimens seem to have a different sweet spot of the colours
  3. nice sps! so fast running out of space already seems like tanks big or small all face the same space problem just an idea but you can try sticking sps onto your overflow box as well
  4. i don't remember passing you any superman but i think you meant the blue polyp one. just got an id on it 5 mins ago, Montipora peltiformis i think the dulling part is good, probably browned out when i first got it too, but mine's something like this now
  5. i would choose 6x24w over a 150w viper. if you're building one yourself maybe you would like to mimic the ati pm. there're a couple of build threads on RC for references. or not there's always delighting's 6 bulb set
  6. you can't really compare the two since there're are many factors for both lights. eg. an ati powermodule will definately put out more par compared to an inferior brand of mh despite it being t5 vs mh. here's ATI PM vs. Giesemann Ininiti PAR. neither brands are inferior but you'd see what i mean if heat is your main issue then t5 is probably the way to go. but if you can live with the heat by say putting fans and all around the mh then i don't see why not
  7. i don't think the penetrating power of a 70w mh is comparable to the other wattage models but it should still do slightly better then 2x24w T5. since you want sps at the bottom, given your width of 15", perhaps you might want to try, a. 1x150w mh b. 6x24w t5 c. led
  8. thanks guys monti's colours are quite temperamental especially the encrusting ones, most of them are sulking abit now
  9. ah beng, the 2 HUGE elegance still there for 5.5 reds. apart from that there are still 4 other smaller but very nice neon body with blue/purple tips 3 very very red pratas going for a steal at less than 20 reds each also spotted 5x Aioliops megastigma 1x Plectranthias inermis
  10. tap water? didn't you mention that you were testing the distilled water you bought from ntuc?
  11. perhaps just a bad batch? i'm lost at which lfs
  12. i agree with terry. probably come feather duster worm or some sort
  13. i doubt the peppermint would feed specifically on only aiptasia so you don't need to worry about it starving
  14. just to add, i don't think they're actually blue hornets since it lacks the yellow skirting. probably blue steel or aoi
  15. 2 large elegance at ah beng, easily more than 1' even without fully extending
  16. i believe by trace elements in a reef, most people would be referring to iodine, strontium, iron, potassium etc. these for your nano would be easily supplemented via water changes with a good salt mix. for ca, kh, and mg, the water change will help maintain them if you're doing it enough to keep up with your coral intake. or else there're plenty of reagents out in the market to maintain these parameters; from two part dosing to various reactors. for testing i personally use salifert for its reputation of accuracy, thought having said that there're also other good brands out there like elos or lamotte
  17. well this is news to me. too bad i don't have a phosphate kit to check mine but >200ppm is
  18. thought judging from how the skeleton is already darkened with algae the rate is not alarming as though the brain is going to die soon. imo with time, good water and if nothing goes wrong it should recover
  19. is that a candycane pygmy goby there?
  20. no no just one ab3000 like yourself. i'm saying its possible to pump straight into the chiller then to the main
  21. thats what i have going on for my tank except i split it to the following return > chiller > main return > fr > sump > (back to return)
  22. nice setup and equipments! ups for you
