  1. thats good. i attribute most lps bleaching cases to temperature. in your case you might want to watch the elegance and see how it goes from here, thats if your water perimeters are in check. supplementary feedings of small pieces of meaty food might help boost recovery but do not overfeed. if it carries on receding in its not a good sign from your latest picture the flesh has already gone of the skeleton edge. cheers! and good luck!
  2. now that you said it yes it does! bro you just sparked a craving for strawberry ice cream
  3. if your tank height is only 1 feet, and depending on what you are going to keep, going for LEDs may be alittle too much. you might want to consider having your own DIY T5 to save costs
  4. bro do keep a log on these angels! i'm sure many reefers are as interested as you are in these fishes
  5. bro maybe you might want to try iwarna. those dying lps in the tanks behind towards the left are going quite cheap
  6. WYSIWYG opens up to be slightly larger then an adult's fist, stable and feeds readily on meaty foods if given. letting go at only $140 viewing and collection is at tampines do pm me if interested
  7. there is a good chance imo. i've brought back bleached lps before but with much care and attention. your water perimeters has to be right first. may i ask if you run a chiller? and what is your set temperature if you do?
  8. almost ALL african zoa colonies (in the center tanks) at iwarna is down with zoa pox. anyone buying might wanna treat them before adding to the tank. but definitely nice colonies, just needs a little help damage is about 2 red notes per colony.
  9. bought an extra tube so letting go, totally new tube for 2 feet fixtures same as the price listed at AM, selling at $28 do pm me if interested
  10. or maybe you can buy the normal impeller and make your own mesh wheel
  11. couldn't find individual packets in the end so i took the whole box
  12. ahh thanks for the fast reply! just checking if anyone here as some instead of buying a new box and using only a few packets even so i'll drop by later to check it out
  13. hello! i'm currently fighting against zoa pox on my blue hornets anyone has furan-2 to spare? can't seem to find it locally unless i order from freshnmarine. even then i won't be needing the whole box to cure just 5 polyps. do get to me if you have some for sale or to spare!
  14. totally retracted doesn't mean its dead. imo it will take some time for it to really die off, especially for lps like your jewel. the flesh will slowly (normally) detach from the skeleton leaving behind the white skeleton where you can see the skeletal structure. if you see polyps its still alive (at least part of it) don't throw it away just because you can see the skeleton on what part cause the healthy portions may just heal back, though this would take sometime and tender care from you aswell. if you're uneasy about it contaminating your tank or anything you may want to run carbon, and maybe using a baster suck up the loose detached flesh if it happens good luck!
  15. yeap nice pumps will need to have a break in period. if i'm not wrong its when the plastic and metal parts loses its chemical coating and it starts to slime up from your tank. after which it would quieten down alot. give it a week or two to run
  16. eheim shouldn't be noisy perhaps you might want to give it a vinegar bath? the bath helped to quieten down my sicce pump. or just like me, you could wait for tunze silence to reach singapore
  17. i've found success with vitamin c and iodine! they produce more obvious effects after a week or two of dosing. so far coral food doesn't seem to make a difference
  18. i remember reading on a foreign forum once, one guy was hospitalized when he accidentally pressed against or squashed his zoas for normal handling, gloves are probably the safest way to go!
  19. your tank just doesn't have enough organics to skim out, so the skimmer just sits there until enough organics build up for it to foam and then it shuts down again same for my skimmer in my 2 feet. you should be able to afford to feed your fishes more often or maybe dosing food for your corals good thing is you can probably use the same skimmer if you intent to upgrade your tank size in the future!
  20. bro might want to try fish-street.com
  21. all sold! thanks for everyone's interest
  22. i would say that the APF 800 would do just fine for your tank. you current volume of 520L doesn't include your rockwork and other things in the tank which would eventually bring down the total water volume, in fact you would be over skimming with the APF 800 already not that i believe that you can overskim but you get my point, just 125 - 150% of the tank rating would be enough. having a oversized skimmer would only mean having very little to skim out on a regular basis. basically the neck on big skimmer is so large that you can’t maintain a proper foam head with so little organics to work with. so it sits unskimmed until enough organics build up that the large skimmer will make a bit into the cup and shut down again. the money saved could get you a better equipments or better corals too
