haha if i post a fts every one would see how a much of a mess my tank is. like some lfs sale tank with stuff all around. need to do a reorg soon that picture doesn't do justice! its the first monti i have seen with polyps that are large enough to move with the waves! the next time you come by you'd understand what i mean. hey mike i can pass you a frag no problem. just let me know when you want it i think the pink with purple skirt is actually be a sunkist sorry my cam didn't catch the orange. the other one should be a normal eagle eyes or watermelons. quite commonly found zoas.

thanks bro that first picture isn't the same blue polyp monti. its another one that's more of neon with significantly larger polyps that can be seen moving with the waves like stylos. the original blue polyp seems that it needs to be played with for different tanks. from what i know so far, too little light = very dark brown base with intense blue polyps (like the very first picture of page 1) too much light = very pale brown base with very pale blue polyps i'd feel that the sweet spot should be somewhere in the more light area so i'm still shifting it higher to get it like the one in the picture from LA but will still take awhile it would probably depend on what colour you're trying to achieve in the end

yeap bro its not Angulatus -
there's always the option of selling away the large rock and getting small ones which are cheaper and nicer. large rocks should be quite easy to sell off since there is demand for them for large tanks. yes they will sting each other when they grow into each other's way but its not an immediate worry for now. growth will just stop in the stung area but the rest will still grow as long as there is room

i agree with peacemaker. super good job on the mod! but i must say your scape this way takes up alot of space which you can put corals since its like a large boulder in the middle. just my thoughts

found this online so just wanted to share photoshop ftw!

your cheato will overtake that area in no time if you have nothing there or there's always an option of the space for frags

and external mod would cost you less than 10 reds if you do the wiring yourself. the $40 can be saved by taking the train to bugis and walking to sim lim tower for the parts what i would do though is increase the flow into the chiller. too slow and by the time the water in the chiller cools down the one in the tank is already heated up thus the chiller keeps kicking in.

looking great bro! those bam bams are need to pay you a visit soon

even at 6" its not an instant event. it would probably take many months for the de-nitrifying process to match your tank's. have you considered growing macro algae instead? since you already have a light source in your sump.

before you start thinking on the corals and fishes perhaps it would be better to settle your tank and equipment first. with that settled you can keep colourful corals or fishes that you want. jumping ahead on lifestock before equipment would only result in corals and fishes dying or losing colour. no matter how colourful or nice the addition is if you can't sustain it its a waste. since now you are going to have a 4 x 2 x 2, you may want to consider the following, sump? has to be big enough to hold your equipments. skimmer? needs to have the capacity to, at the minimum, match your total volume. method of nutrient export? there are many ways to do this, be it using media reactors, macro algae growth in a fuge, turf-scrubbers etc chilling? your resun 280 that you bought before will not work for a 4 feet. cooling fans are an option but their subjected to their own cons. lighting? it has to be strong enough to keep the corals that you want. since your depth is 2 feet you may want to consider good t5 sets or even mh/led if you're keen on more challenging corals. my 0.02

good find! i started my duncans with a little more than 1 head at that price

someone correct me if i'm wrong, but from what i have always thought and learnt on rc is that a dsb should be a minimum of 6". care to post your equipment list for your display?
