Recommended photoperiod for MH is between 8-10hrs. 4 hrs is really too little for the zooxanthellae to generate enough food through photosynthesis for the corals to survive which is the natural process in which many corals use to survive in the wild. Even with supplementary feeding, the bulk of the food needed comes from photosynthesis. As MH will never be as intense or strong as the sun, therefore it is better to run a longer photoperiod even if it seems unnatural to have the "sun" up for 8-10hrs a day. This is assuming that water quality is good and nutrients are controlled to prevent nuisance algae from growing. Please correct me if I am wrong

I would like to report and expose a corruption scandal with our resident tang police. He was recommending me a sohal tang that was 11 inches big, stating that my 5ft will have enough space for it, KNOWING that I already have a purple, yellow and achilles tang residing in the tank. I met the alledge at a shady coffee shop in potong pasir to view the goods. With his accomplice, the alledge brought me to a carpark and showed me the contraband item. Fearing for my life , I agreed to the abovestated transaction. I would like to report to the moderators of SRC. Please hold a BOI on the abovementioned incident please and publicly expose the corruption within the Tang Police Force and see that the relevant perpetrators be brought to justice. You should check your phosphate and nitrate levels. These are the culprits that generally contributes to algae blooms. Also do not overfeed your fishes cause it contributes to higher nutrient levels if the food is left uneaten. Anyway, very nice and neat tank

You're right, the more i look at it, the more i think it must go to a bigger tank, but apparently, it was in a 3ft tank for 2 years, raised from a juvenile.

The fins have healed already and the spots have gone also, but makan only very small bits of food. Hopefully it eats soon then I can relax, or not everyday try all kinds of funny things to make it eat. VERY STRESSFUL

it was upgraded from my 3ft about 6months back, majority of LR, water and sand from there. 3ft was kept for about a year before upgrading.
