wat i did was to close the ball valve at the bottom of the pipe, then suck thru the open end of the top pipe. thats the fastest and best way i tried so far. the after u starts to taste salt water liao .. means u can stop ###### and proceed to open the ball valve.. then .. it should work .. repeat the process if it doesn't work, until u are sick of drink salt water .. haha

hey gerald, if u make the pipe properly, it should maintain the siphon and auto start when u restart ur pump.

Hi all, i got some fishes which are the jailbirds from my sump tank to give away. they all commited some kind of offends, thats why so pls think twice before wanting them. 1. bi-color dottyback ---murdered 3 anthias, attack any fish with same body shape 2. zebra strip damsel---murdered my bicolor angle 3. yellow wrasse --- murder 3 cleaner shrimps 4. dark grey wrasse --- murder 1 frogspawn ( not reefsafe) 5. blue streak devil --- big bully in tank... never kill anyone but stressing everyone 6. unicorn tang(5") --- eat too much too fast, bully also.. pm if u are interested... pls join the yellow ribbon campian

hey gerald, wat do u mean overflow in the tank .. u mean a partition for the top water to overflow into it .. ?? if u have that then u dun need a surface skimmer tube.

Hi ppls, i just did that for my tank on sunday.. the reason why i did that is becoz my tank is not very big .. so reducing current as my LPS are not opening due to too strong current.. and the corals i love all dun need strong current. i'll take a pic to show wat i did .. but i think for those who wants high current... this is not for u ..

hi reefers, i'm thinking of adding a UV steriliser to my set up as i realsed that all the new fishes i tries to add all die after 2-3 day covering with ich.. so much that its disgusting .. all my old fishes are ich resistance already .. but new fish cannot go in .. please tell me ur experiences.. thanks ..

i see... like that u will need a dc adapter to run the motor but .. i guess the motor will spoil very soon .. becoz i'm in the car industry .. so i noe that the motor life of all this components are just enuff for their usage in the car only .. so maybe after 2 mth .. or so .. it will burn out liao .. i have tested some aircon fan motor and they faill in just 2 weeks ..

yah.. thats true... thing in the car are all desigh for their special function... so i dun thin that will last .. worse case is that the motor will burn ..

marine fish not really need cool water .. most of the time the cool water is for corals.. and some very exotic fishes from fiji or hawaii .. i'm running a fan on my 4 ft fish tank and it keep the water btw 25-27degree.. good enuff for my LPS and fishes..
