rockfish

just now, while i do my daily stare at the fish tank, i saw 2 pieces of red base yumas that i bought on sunday going to dislogde.. so i took it out before it do the same thing to my other corals .. one of the pieces that came off was quite big.. bigger than a 50cent coin .. i'm thinking of fragging again .. anyway, i realised that the piece of rock that i bought, the yumas have been splitting alot .. .. how should i describle it .. some of the mushrooms look as though they were being scrambled.like "scramble eggs" .. look very messy but it is forming into many pieces of small and mid size mushroom .. will see if i'm so free until i decide to frag that big fleshy piece ..

bro blue heaven, after reading ur instruction here stirred up my interest, and coincidently, the next morning, i found a piece of my green yumas dislogde from the rock and landed on my fav hammer. when i took it away, it stung my hamer badly melting away so of the hammer's tentacles .. in the fit of anger , an evil tot grows .. i decided to try fragging that fellow... i sniped that mushroom into half then put then back into the tank. i used a pvc pipe cut into short section to contain the frang in case they get swipe by the current and sting other corals again . i check it yesterhday nite, it already recovering from the cut. thats very fast ..

uncountable times.. a few times a week. will taste it when even i test out my diy stuff.. seems a bit addicting .. haha

if the water din flow as well using the initial start, that mean there is still air trap inside the tube... of coz a basic siphon will flow faster than this system, becoz it is not control by atm pressure. atm pressure is a factor that is important in this system as it help maintain the siphon in the tube for ur autostart. wat i suggest is .. 1. dun stop ###### until u really taste the salt water..( reduce air trap in the pipe) 2. put on a end cap that have not been drill with hole..( to make it a full siphon) 3. open the ball valve to let the system run..( let the water run for some time) 4. u will realised the the speed of the flow increase as it flows.. ( its getting rid of the air trap) 5. after the water reach the full speed, replace the end cap with the one that got a hole drilled in it. ( u will realised the the flow is slower than the full siphon, but thats normal) this step will be the same as the step that u do .. "Then I remove the U-turn ###### output portion and tried with just the basic siphon and water flow was like a tap....while the water is still flowing, I put back the U portion and waterflow was reduced by 20-30% but at least much better than using ###### method. However this is a very awkward method ... reminds me of the nightmare when I was using Eheim filter..."

hi box fish, actually the tube with end cap have to be higher than the overflow. and yes, u can top up water there instead of ######. i personally feel that topping up water is messy .. and yes u can put a ball valve there. closing the ball valve will induce faster flow .. and fully closed will be a full siphon..

just to share my personal experience .. i was caught for speeding and driving in the middle lane.. the tp say .. if u drive on the left lane at 70+ .. i'll close one eye .. but u drive on lane other than left lane . .. he could keep his eyes close ... haha ... $150 for that lesson ..
