hey! bro melvin! i make one of this too ... like u said the higher the water level control point is, the slower the flow. therefore, i modified the design too .. and it seems to a bit simlar to urs. but i think urs looks chio'er.

i try curing some untreated LR with super concentrated salt water. it worked .. all the piston shrimps and crabs all crawled out of their holes .. i soaked the rocks in the conc salt water for 30 mins. when i take out the rocks, all the crab and shrimps and bristle worms alll out at the bottom of my plastic ontainer.

Yucks!! i wouldn't want that creature in my tank ... *vomitting*

hi just a qiuck question... do we need 0ne ballast per tube .. or a 40W ballast can supply to 2 tube of 40W.. ?? and can any tell me the price of the 39W ballast at sinter.. becoz i saw some E-ballast of 40W at Aq""St"r .. selling at $10 each .. dunno cheap or ex ..

hi bro!! .. i'm not sure if my method is correct.. but it kills all of them .. good or bad alike.. i soak the rocks in concentrated salt water or 30 mins .. when all the worms and crabs and shrimps are die or half way there .. take a tong or pincer to pull them out one by one .. i did so for my 30 kgs of LR .. the algaes survived ..

i have very wonderful experience with ppls from this forum. most ppls here are helpful and polite. i will try to stay here... and bro fireclown... u are rite!! .. that guys din even have the guts to use his own hp or email to give the warnings... have to resort to use starhub websms and "SRC" name...

well bro siao, i have be enjoying my setting up of my marine tank until today. i used to look at my ugly dirty tank everyday (as it is cycling) and not feel bored or effort wasted... but today truely, it stir my mood up so much that the first thing i do after i came home from work is to come here to let it all out. i start to wonder.. is it more worth while to come here and be accused while trying to learn from others or do my tank alone and pay a bit more, do a bit more, taking a few wrong turns to get my tank rite .. wasn't helping the origin idea of having this forum .. ???

if u guys really interested, we can talk about the price. but these branches are lighter, so u get more in volume and lesser in weight, therefore still will be cheaper. and BTW, LRs too going cheap. but the sale will onli start after CNY, becoz busy during these days.. and at the same time i'll keep an eye on the rocks and branches to make sure they are properly treated

i'm currently making one with grey pvc pipe. althought it doesn't look as good, but i belive it could do the same function as a expensive ones ... so if u are interested, i can consider making one for u .

25 mm pipe is more than enough. at least can support a pump that deliver 1400L/h.

somme ppls are filthy rich while some are just poor fellows trying to keep up to their hobby. guys .. there's nothing wrong being poor and try to have a hobby that are more expensive. while some ppls that are more fortunate to be born with a silver spoon ... some of us are not .. so those rich ones out there that are really against poorer ppls trying to cut cost by DIYing their own equipments... think again ... at least they put their blood and sweat into making the whole thing while some just spend money to get wat they wants... sometime mid of this yr i saw some ppls calling those that DIY their own stuff... cheapos...
