sorry bro.. u mean the water is not clear or the walls is full of alge.. last time i used to have this problem when i keep koi. i used filter mat and coral chips.. increase the filter volume to at least 1/4 of the main pond.. and add benificial bateria until filter mature. and ur UV could be the problem .. it kills the bateria that cleans ur water .. if u are refering to the pond wall, i think that is okay. just stop feeding ur koi, and they will eat the alge from the wall ..

the waste food will become the food of the bacteria.. there for no need for cotton .. wool will only be a net to hold the food while it rots .. worse for nitrate.

i din say that setting up a fish shop is easy. i just based on wat i see there few times i went there and give a comment based on the FACT. and i commented on the marine knowledge low becos everytime i went there... only the lady is around.. so watever i asked is always not sure .. and the writing on the tank "DOC WRASSE $3" is also a fact! if u dare to write, u dare to sell!! why $5 when u written $3? truely, i think i have biased opinion. but dun u have a biased opinion to me too? u had ur pleasant experience there while i dun. u gave ur opinion based on wat u see there and so have i.

try feeding with live BS.. it will tempt them to eat .. at least works for all my not eatting fishes

afew mths back... i was asking the same question. Tanzy advice me to put only DSB in the sump which i did, no sponge no wool.. leftover food and dirt goes straight into the sand bed, food for good bacteria. maturing the DSB fast, so far, my water condition is consider the best comparing with other filter medium i used..
