this is wat i mean.. a hole in the end cap. u need the atm pressure to maintain the siphon...

the end cap i refered to is the one cirled in red in ur photo. if u dun make a hole.. when the water run out, ur water level in ur tube will be drain completely. therefore when u restart ur pump, the siphon is broken already. so it will not auto start the flow.. understand.. ??

hey GB, i did have my crash a few times until i learn to be discipline by the hard way. so i guess rite now, u be cycling ur tank .. and when u are ready to start off again .. dun overstock. this is wat always happen when the tank is empty.. my friend "Ebasslet" suffer multiple tank crashes and she is still very positive about reefing .. only thing she she still haven really learn bout not overstocking.. haha anyway.. cheers bro.. it may be a start of more happy reefings

i can just add a end cap at the top of the open tube.. then make a small hole about 3-5 mm ... like that, the air flow will be lesser then not so much noise. the noise is like "Orm..Orm..Orm" rite.. ?? after that will be "...................."

do u have a surface skimming tube.. to be place in the tank ... if not ... when ur pump stop, it's going to drain all the water in ur fish tank ..

NPCC and police are really way off .. its my experience in NPCC that let me see that police aren't wonderful/impressive as they seems to be .. have u ever see police man chatting online in the NPP... i have .. that is our "impressive police uncle.." ?? well, i'm not someone else"s father .. but i'm someone's son.. i realised that i have neglect my mum since i have my fish tank ... and at the beginning, even quarrel with her over my fish tank .. just becos she din like it in my room .. but i took a turn in it, i involed her in my new found hobby .. i bring her to do fish shopping with me .. teach her how to takecare of my fishes and corals.. and took her advise to put the fish tank in the garden area... and after that .. we found ourself talking bout fishes some time in the morning before i go to work .. well reefers .. hobby maybe hobbys... but wat comes first should be the more important things in life ... and not marine tank .. marine tank is important.. but how much do they weigh when u compare them to ur family ..

i do believe in giving ppls a chance too... i still go there after that incident.. and i can see that their set up and LS condition have indeed improved alot. and service also.. i go there so often that the owner can actually regconise me... i din say those thing that i said in the first few threads to bring ppls down .. truely .. just based on my first few experiences... now i enjoy my equal share of their friendliness, good service and healthy LS... ppls do make mistakes either on purpose or not .. its still a mistake.. anyway, i believe in forgiving .. so moron clown ... hope u can be more forgiving too.

i have advised my friend to maybe let them make his fish tank but do the setting up himself... and OF COZ .. i promoted our one and only SRC to him and ask him to read up.. i did told him that if he wants to just buy fishes and dump in the tank and not going to look after them .. then dun start this hobby... wat i think is that.. we should extend our help to those that truely want to start this hobby.. and discourage those that are not. and maybe if u know this ppls well enough u can help them with the start up.. and not the contractors take advantage of this.. these acts of those contractors will eventually stain this hobby ... then ppls will be saying that "salt water fish so hard to keep sure die wan..."

Hi all!! just to share some things with u guys!! yesterday! a friend of my told me that a contractor who did her friend's house is doing a marine tank for them too. But she came to ask for clarification from me after hearing wat the contractor say. "put salt water into the tank, after a few days when the water reduce by 10% add fresh water to top up...." still nothing wrong with this statement! " when the water reduced by 10% again due to evaporation, ADD SALT WATER. And from then on .. only top up with salt water .. dun ever add fresh water again" how does this statement sounds..? CRAZY rite..? that is wat happen in dead sea, salt water keep going in and evaporate... until one fine day... the water is too salty even for salted fish. contractors/consultant like these are all over the streets cheating money from ppls telling them that they will set up the tank for them and give all the wrong info .. i think these ppls have to be stopped.
