bro thought u already using one why as back up huh
or using as double the power
-
will try to post on wkends as i only got home once a wk and now busy with coming part time study
-
i don't recomend for that as it'll have heat and then the pump will start to get noisy
-
i've my system running for quite awhile now...
So far i nvr test no3, no2, po4 and amonia as i trust Algea scrubber alot
The aglea did bloom but most of it is brown w/ abit of green
What's best of all is that my sand bed is clean, glass panel clean and the rocks u can't see any hair algea nor red/brown.
I'm here to
SM for sharing his ideas with us
But i would like to add is that skimmer don't really do alot of harm is just that it'll skim out in whatever it go though it, so in another way it bad (so call).
However this item (skimmer) helps alot of people (more to newbies), cause they tends to over feed the fish and also over stocking.
Which causes high pollution of water parameter, unless u running a very oversize scrubber for it in another way u need a skimmer to do the job as in assist before it go crazy...
This also come from my exp. as well doesn't know on others.
U're the man who lets us have an alternative way of setup
for the way i place my skimmer is only skimming bout only half of the water down flow from the main tank
with the other half pass though the scrubber

yo bro are u looking for new tank with sump at 2ft????
-
normally ah beng sure have in their tank at the back...
Where the tube/ coco worms are beside the zoa tank
he do sell relatively reasonable...
if it really out of stk iwarna also have at the rear end where all the hermit crabs are
-
just a question as i've already have one is it advise to put it in???
cause i wanna have a pair yet only one survive in the end
don't know is it due to arguement LOL
-
bro u mean without 2 heads from a pc, yet we all can cut it into 2pcs and frag it???
-
for sure it won't i'm using it as well to bond some of the LR, as well as my wave maker to the magnet glass cleaner
so now i've a magnet holder for my resun wavemaker
-
for ceramic shaft it can't be stick back by super glue...
and u need to get a right position thatit's inline with the end to end point ( or else it'll break again once on the pump)
if u really want to stick it back u can drop by my place this weekend when i'm home i'll use a 2ton epoxy mix and fix it
however it need bout 8hrs cure to have such holding power
-
For Rio pump i ever face such problem before as well.
-
ok a few question to ask
1.) As u said it noisy what kind of sound it produce rubbing noise or loud clicking noise
2.) when u heard the noise is it submerge in water or out of the water
3.) Did u open the frt portion(impeller) before if so open up again n see anything inside, if no fix it back n test again
4.) when u power on and there's sound is the pump moving and pumping water
if all the above have chk and the sound is still there go back to the shop and show them for an exchange unit
-
bro u'll nvr know
i see quite a few bro giving up and come back later on as they find it still lovely for reefing
-
