I age the salt mix only. (As still water can attract mossie to lay eggs) I add a few drops of Prime(de-chlorine) The aged salt mix will be in my top up compartment spanning from 1~7 days.

Thanks! Tall tank have to scrape upwards...as current lightset cannot support the lower section. You are right about the chemicals.

You have to battle algae problems for months before the system get mature and stable. Took me like 6-8months... I aged my Salt mix from 1 day to a week. Using a few drop of prime. Hope this helps.

Thanks! Personally, I avoid chemicals that solve PO4/NO3 or NO2 that solve problems in short run. It doesn't provide long run stability.
