Added 2 x Seafans today! FTS as of today.

This happened to my zoas after only 3days. Whats the webby thingy? I took it out CRX, and found the coral slimy and jelly-like. Any1 can ID this issue? Pest or Baterial Infection? BTw, there are only 2 affected subjects, both zoas.

After back from my business trip for 3 days, my Chilli pepper Monti had bleached.... Why ah? funny....any1 have any idea?

Bare bottom is nice! However, you will face some problems such as; 1. Choice of fishes. (Fishes that sleep inside, will have problem hiding.) 2. Constant KH replensihing. (NO sand, means, your KH will go down constantly without replenishing) 3. Dirt/debris can be very obvious. (If you are a "clean freak", you might not want to do this) 4. Barebottom means no sand/chips to protect your base from falling huge rocks. Advantage will be; 1. Clean look. 2. Dirt/debris can be easily removed. 3. you can see your fishes most of the time. 4. When you decomm, its easier and faster my humble opinions. HTH.

dnt worry, it will appear sooner than you thought. Just learn as you make mistakes...this's life! Anyway, BTA will require like. (As Terry had mentioned.)So, just keep searching around and you will find it planted somewhere permanant.

Bro, for chiller, most people will choose to set the temp he/she wants the chiller to (kick in) and the temp that will (kick off) at. Example: 28 deg to kick in, and cool to 27 deg. The external thermometer should just be a guide for you to monitor temp in the main tank. For myself, i m using a external Thermosat to kick in my chiller at 28, kick off the chiller and pump at 27. For External Thermometer, i am placing it in main display tank. Its usually 0.2 deg cooler than the sump tank. hth

That depends where u place the external thermometer. Where r u placing the ext thermometer?

Back from my holiday! Will upload some pics Greeted with foul smell upon entering my house. As i expected, Sohal passed on...The Yellow Wrasse is my only hope. But i due to the highly toxic environment, i found it hidding in the sand with its head above the sand. Grasping for air, one of its eye is bloated. Hope it will be fine... Decomposing right in the unreachable depth... Learning from my past mistakes, i had off all pumps to ensure death circulation in the main tank. Cleaning its body reminded me of the snows that fell from the sky, in the most ironic way... (The body meat debris were all over the tank...) The smell... Can you believe it, the skimmer skim-mate is almost the color of black! :sick: oh mine... I swore that i wil never let this happen again!

Yup, will try to do QT for the coral as well. The thoughts of introducing new coral is just ease the "Itchy hand syptoms" haha But my QT is too small.

Of course, i thought i know alot about fishes3 days before. But after this distasous event, totally burnt off all confidence. Im gonna start all over again, to know more about fishes... I will need all the help i need to stay away from fishes the next 8 weeks! Yea bro, gonna wait for at least 8 weeks. or 12 weeks! Maybe i can stock up corals in the meantime. Take this period to think through whether im gg to keep other kinda family fishes. Yea Lemon, i had QT all my fishes and will continue to do that...provided the QT tank not removed by CO. haha

Thanks Digi, and the other bros that had given me your advices... Indeed, PBT is indeed powerful and should be added with better precaution earlier. And as Digi bro had said, yes, ICH had killed my tangs... I shall not give up and one day,this beauty shall be eventually be in my mini reef one day. Of course, i will not be adding any fishes the next few months...Shall take a break and grieve, and to reflect all mistakes made.

The challenge is to catch the big guy. It's not eating the mysis I soaked with praziquantel. .. Good luck to it.

Oh, I'm suspecting sohal is suffering from flukes. There's sign of white patches and rash marks on it's body. If not, what would u suggest?
