whats your tank size.. A wavemaker will definitely be useful as it helps to keep the detrius off the live rocks and sand bed, it also create "oxygen" in event of your return pump being faulty.. my 2cents

On a side note, because live rock and sand will "add volume" to the tank, therefore, when filling it with water, leave some volume for the additional of live rock and live sand. else,easiest way is to add the sand, rock, pump water in.. put filter wool at the water flow, wait few days and wala.. clear tank in progress of cycling. my 2cents and all the best!

lck also got sell oceanic salt, i was using $60+ bucket with free t-shirt till they stop bringing in, currently changed to red sea pro sea salt (same as solo friend) haha for around $80. else you may try ah beng at pasir ris farm as they're selling in "packets" same price but no bucket + t-shirt haha

i used this for the setup of my new 5feet tank, might be i did step by step (with no live sand but got live rock) it kinda works without the tank having "new tank synd"

for those corals i brought from kim sotong. i was the bag, place it inside the tank. half hour later i put it into the tank, 1 hour later it will open up.. just sharing my 2cents

yea. ich will always surface.. normally if it have ich and it's feeding, ignore it as it will build up it's immune system. (unless it's super super severe ich) 1) you will stress it more if you catch it 2) when it's ok, if you put into your main tank again, ich will come back as it's stress (this can happen) currently since it's at QT, feed with the common food you fed your fishes (pellets/frozen) and once it's fighting fit, can put it back to DT again. all the best!

i brought two pepper commando after they are comfortable in the tank, 2nd day gone.. two adult is enough for one big aptisia (imo is big haha, maybe there's a bigger version whom i never see before) i tried calcium spray however no use.
