  1. If everyone mentality is like that, we will never advance in the reeding scene as a country if everyone is so disinterested. All shipments will then be boring fishes. If everyone doesn't mind then that's fine too. We'll just be contented with our usual fishes. Anyway sorry for off topic
  2. Every single fish that appears in our market has been extensively discussed in this forum by me and Digiman. We share extensively in the hybrid thread and the Lfs update thread. Everything here we put in the effort to share with the members and introduce new and interesting species. So when people tell me they never get exposure, I tell them no. They just don't read.
  3. Thats the beautiful C. cf. Springeri. M3 brought in before. ML has some very beautiful ones and they are so cheap and affordable. Unfortunately our local reefers don't care about unique/ rare fishes even if they come cheap. Everyone only wants flame Angela and blue tangs
  4. The lemonPeel is gorgeous. If anyone here dares to comment onthe Rabaulichthys anthias saying it's gorgeous and where to get it, I'm going to start yelling
  5. We tell others the difficulty and impossibleness of a species to discourage further killing. Not to promote their demise

The only way to stop the trying and the killing is to increase the price of the fish. Otherwise pple will just keep on buying because being cheap it is easily replaceable.

U cannot discount ignorance if advice has been given profusely

  6. as with all anthias. all anthias are good jumpers. the sailfin anthias are very rare and seldom kept. and they are usually quite timid. this batch at CF is very healthy and all feeding greedily!
  7. FYI, for those who have no idea what is sailfin anthias, this is it. i'm very surprised that the repsonse towards these fishes have been rather subdued! they are easy and extremely gorgeous and very rare! and also very cheap! anthias lovers please do not hesitate! rush down CF immediately to grab them!
  8. CF also has many rare fishes.. Marginalis butterflies Muelleri butterflies The very rare and gorgeous sailfin anthias (Rabaulichthys sp)
  9. Paracheilinus nursalim. this is a photo i've not seen before. gorgeous fish. it;s so unique coz it's sooo yellow. not red!
  10. this tinker is very beautiful. the thick yellow border on the dorsal fin is gorgeous.
  11. i'll never forget this specimen. the smallest flavocoronatus i've seen.
  12. on the topic of tinker, here's a v old photograph of tinkeri back when it was an undescribed species. here is 2 pages of the official description papers.
  13. FIVE CM TINKER!? OHHH MY GOD. i've never seen juvenile tinkers before even in pictures. small ones are super rare
  14. the hybrid goldflake has been stuck there for months. literally. it grew at least 2 inches in CF. no one noticed it....
  15. Sending my pet dog to the vet coz his ears bled out after listening to the fun pack song. Yes it's now classified under animal cruelty too.

  16. copperband eat pellets is possible but very rare! longnose butterflies also can. but pellets must be small
  17. yes i got some to eat pellets. but mostly mysis only. the colinis were all eating on pellets though. generally smaller golden angels adapt better. the smaller they are, the more easily they adapt. but not too small. around 2 inches is best. big ones like 3 inch onwards are almost always doomed to die. almost always. keyword is almost
  18. fish + SPS/ mixed reef. the numbers of fishes have to go down, but the species are not limited! you can keep SPS with angels and butterflies like me! or you can keep other fishes. nowadays with more knowledge being circulated in reefing, no such thing as 'reef-safe/not reef-safe" anymore. everything is possible! i support!
  19. aiyah. it's very easy to say i wanna try i wanna try. and it's very easy to buy it and it will die. i've dried golden angel 4 times. colini 7 times venustus 5 times multibar 3 times that's a total of 19 fishes. all of them are difficult and are tough species to keep alive. out of the 19, none survive. and out of the 19, 14 were feeding. given that i've given them all the requirements they need, and have extensive knowledge on all 4 species, so what? none survived. so if anyone is really willing to try, seriously don't be too excited. i must stress again that these are not impossible fishes. they are just very challenging. and bear in mind our singapore LFS are not liveaquaria or some high end U.S LFS. the holding conditions are not ideal and the longer they last there, the more difficult they become as they start getting disease and what have you. so be prepared to kill. many. before you succeed. unless your lucky like the threadstarter. but when it comes to these 4 fishes. everytime someone tell me feeding. i will just say one word. "so?"

  21. yup, as with dnsfpl, his golden angel also started feeding after it settled down in a peaceful environment. environment is key to feeding. what happens after that is just luck. i've tried 4, all feeding but all died shortly after for no reason.
  22. truth be told, getting a golden angel to feed is not difficult. they are shy fishes by nature and if given proper conditions to settle down, they will feel comfortable and get started on feeding. the difficult part comes after that. most are caught using cyanide due to their extreme crypticness and shyness in the wild. so many specimens die of the effects of cyanide after capture, despite feeding or not. yours was lucky in a sense that it managed to survive despite all the trials of capture. this goes the same to colini, multibar and venutus. IMO, the 4 hardest dwarf angels to acclimate and get adjusted to aquarium life. but if alot of patience, luck and the right conditions are given, they will make wonderful pets,.
  23. rare here, common in the states. and cheap there too.
