reef safe with caution. depends on the fish really...most of the time they leave corals alone. mine eats candycanes and occasionally pecks at my cloves. but minimal damage so i just close one eye

just realised this morning that what i bought is not xenia...its anthellia. after taking a closer look today, i realised that they were all growing on mats, aka stolons, rather than stems. guess in the midst of my excitement i din realise =\ it is pretty nonetheless...so..my never ending search for the elusive white pulsing xenia continues..again

i scrape algae once a week. i dunno why....i feed alot but i dun have any algae growing.....this worries me. as for sand, i have 2 sand dollars, one hard ucrhin and 5 nassarius snails to make it sparkling white (:

wow dude u bumped an old thread. anyway, din get into biomed. intake too high this year even though my cut off was really promising. yes i have a strong interest for medical terms. chemistry wise, 85/100 in school. bio also A1. i got into biotech in SP.....guess i'll be seeing you there huh./

Want to share my joy with everyone here (: my moorish idol has hit his first month surviving inside my tank. some ppl say they will just die one day for no reason, which i believe its true... my moorish idol is eating 3 kinds of pellets, mysis, henry's food, market prawn and banana. i have taken a video of him eating all the foods above (except henry's. i ran out), in memory INCASE he up lorry XD. he survived ich for 2 weeks and now hopefully, is immune. he has been spotless for 2 weeks already and he is as greedy as he is beautiful (: hope you enjoy the rather long 4 min video.... hope he survives in my tank for as long as he can

hmm...can see my xenias are still no quite there yet. only half the colony is pulsing, and moderately. it will be nicer is every polyp pulses with vigor and speed. anyway its only day 1 of xenia. will try to see how.....just woke up and turned on the lights not too long ago. xenias can pulse even when they are closed! very cool lol

i just scrape off some with a fork and throw some very small pieces in....whatever my fish cant finish, my hermit crabs will. seems like banana is a well known method for feeding? i dunno the benefits though haha. banas are high in carbs and potassium....maybe its good for the fishes haha

haha. perhaps. wait tomorrow see if they pulse more. just now pulsation very sparse and weak, but nice nonetheless. see tomorrow will be better or not.

my special order came in tonight (: 5 exclusive rocks of premium quality white pulsing xenias! the minute they came out of the box, i stood there. guarding it......i bought 2. this guy bought another one, but i think he returned it....changed his mind probably. Thanks wilson for the lift..really appreciate it! while waiting for wilson, i decided to buy another one XD. coz the guy reject, now i have 3. praise the lord! wilson got 1. to whoever interested in pulsing xenia, there is ONE rock left. the rest are small and there are many more common brown xenias. i placed them in my tank and within 5 minutes, started to pulse even though they were all shriveled up. quality is there. hoping they will survive and not melt! -__- sees like the hardiness for xenias are the end of the spectrum. either propogate like weeds, or just CMI. anyway its 2 red notes for a rock. very worth it! Pictures.... here they are 5 mins into the tank. nice colour eh? hoping to see them in their full glory tomorrow. (: cheers to xenia!
