  3. very nice adult semeion butterfly with a nice blue forehead. one of my favorite butterflyfishes. i had a small one before which i trained to eat pellets. but it died for no reason. will get it in a heartbeat if i ever see it again. quite uncommon.

what do you think it is? :)

  5. interesting species. apogon cavitensis. wide ranging, philippines, indo etc. looks unique.
  6. apogon luteus very nice solid yellow that will make a nice schooling species if we can ever get it. found from palau all the way to marshall including all islands inbetween like guam.
  7. more pics of hybrid togean flasher wrasse and one flashing picture!
  8. this is either a young tonozukai fairy wrasse, or the undescribed "sailfin fairy" that looks like tonozukai but it is not. it was labelled as iryan jaya fairy wrasse, and not tonozukai. so most probably it's the undescribed one.
  9. bella goby can also be found in lembeh straits! but unfortunately we don't have collection from that area so we don't get to see this fish. it's also found in japan and philippines?
  10. more pictures of togean flasher wrasse in the wild. this is a v rare species in the trade that i think has not yet entered the market. the dorsal fin is big and round, sailfin like.
  11. abudefduf is a ridiculous genus name. v unique and v nice to say!
  12. OH MY GOD!!! THE LAST 2 ARE EXTREMELY RARE HYBRIDS THAT I'VE NEVER SEEN BEFORE NOT EVEN IN KUITER'S BOOK. it's filamentosus x togeanensis. it's a hybrid between the togean flasher wrasse and filament flasher. or it could also be a hybrid between togean flasher with flavianalis, filamentosus or cyaneus since all the range overlaps. based on the 3 filaments in pic 1 it probably is filamentosus x togeanensis. 2nd pic has no filaments so maybe flavianalis. the rest on top are normal. omg RB TIME!!!
  13. ah yes the rusty flame tank is own by the guy with the aberrant coral beauty. we post about it on rb before. it has not morphed back to normal after 4 months!
  14. another stunning photo of the juvenile interruptus angel. it's been awhile since so many tiny ones are being collected.
  15. Ventralis anthias fans, here's a short piece i wrote on the many geographical variations of this species. merry christmas! http://reefbuilders.com/2011/12/22/pseudanthias-ventralis/
