  1. zhimin. i be FRANK with you. i mass pm every single member on SRC tell them ur tank is cursed and got black magic. so no one dare to even show interest. to make it even better, i paid all of them $5 each. see how much i try to prevent u from selling it! where to find this kind of so good friend!!
  2. ur fries oso not nice to eat. shud be happy i even bother stealing them. i want my happy meal toy
  3. i will say that hawks will at times consume small gobies. however it is unusual for fishes to eat cleaners. because of their blue/black combination, it allows other fishes to know that they are cleaners. its a colour combination called "cleaner blue" however, no guarantees. if the neon goby is bigger, you can try. smaller ones are no no.
  4. totally enjoyed our group trip to the west today guys. if you're reading this. CF - jann's pipefish - declives butterfly - fourspot butterfly - tiny tiny blue tangs. about this size --> (---)< - dispars (some moderately nice supermales) - purple queens - red variant mandrin fishes open your eyes - tiny yellow tangs - flame angels - spiny astrea snails - peppermint hog - majestic angels - big sized yellow clown gobies - tiny juv red coris - yellow wrasses - 1 dracula goby
  5. should be ok. falco and neon goby. just take note falcos are aggressive
  6. hello sis! thanks alot yah! really enjoy going to your place. your tank is so nice!!! and no its not messy haha
  7. thanks!! nothing compared to the DSLR gang out there. just a humble tank using a humble olympus digital camera haha! thanks thanks!! Hope so! it is dimmable with an in built timer, duration setting and everything. only problem is its in german. so will need some time figuring it out haha!
  8. finally! welcome vincent to SRC. very nice meeting you at nigel's house that day. the way you strip down the tank very professional. and the removal of sand was lighting fast! clap clap!
  9. thanks bro. heard alot of good things from nigel about your tank. must visit your tank one day if possible haha. hi bro thanks for the compliments. it always looks nicer in photos. in real life always cannot perform. somedays one coral will decide to chu pattern and spoil everything >.>
  10. last two photos for the day. an odd couple of cleaner shrimps and a clown goby sleeping in my elegance. how cute. thats all for now~
  11. my baby sun coral! grew from a larvae. started out with hundreds growing all over. but alas, due to the restraints of home aquaria, only 5 managed to survive. i dont feed them, they're too small. so these 5 are the troopers. large enough now for me to photograph. previously will jsut appear as a yellow blur, albeit still very small.
  12. Must thank sis ming69 for this. have always been an avid fan of xenias and anthellias. these guys arent expensive, but one must say, they are really pretty eh? the next photo is my giant xenia colony. past few days have been pulsing like maddddddddd. must be the iodine dosage and the good PH. haha
  13. some of my little frags of zoas. i love to have small frags of zoas that are stuck around the tank. i find that they add a nice splash of colour whereever they are positioned. i have alwys preferred frags over colonies nothing compared to those avid zoa keepers...very basic types haha. the first pic is my all time favourite in my tank. rainbow zoas!! the peach coloured ring outside the green is actually very beautiful in person. but alas, i have failed with my cmi camera These are some of my favourites. rainbow, fire and ice, cat's eye??, the pink one and candy apple red!! but the red cannot capture too forgot to include dragon eyes. lazy to take photo.
  14. got a new giesemann T5 light few days ago. very happy with the new result. here's some pics of my corals under the new T5 actinics. looks very blue and the corals glow pretty well.
  15. wah! always always a big fan of RED sps. as i believe they are not common? with the exception of red montis.
  16. suns and super suns love places with dim lights and very good flow in fact, most important for them is the flow. its interesting to note that it is extremely common to find sun corals growing upside down, horizontally, vertically, and in almost every possible degree of orientation in the wild. mostly on rocks. so it doesnt really matter which way you put them. so long as they get their flow and most importantly food, you are good to go. spawning does occur in the home aquaria. its a very interesting sight to behold as they release planula lavae all over your tank. and soon you will have babies growing on the rocks. i have around 100+ babies but its hard to feed them...so left with 5 big ones now here's a photo from wetwebmedia of them growing upside down. polyps here are not extended. Hope this helps you! cheers
  17. holy smokes. the zoas are amazing. was going to post some pictures of my tank, but when i saw this.. no face to post liao keke!
  18. ups for a nice reefer.. thanks for the giesemann lights. a little bit hard reading the german words, but im getting used to the adjustment
  19. looks stressed. flesh is pulling away from the skeleton. i would suggest placing it in med flow and med light first and observe. 2 days is quite early, maybe its still acclimating to your tank.
  20. i feed NLS. NLS is a sinking pellet if u throw hard enough into the water.
  21. no lah haha. cannot compare. thanks for the kind words
  22. can frag but difficult leh. skeleton super dense. i fragged mine using a dremel saw. but i think normal bone shears will work
  23. calices exude mesenterial filaments to digest corals nearby. very dangerous for nearby corals. acans can do this as well.
  24. note that i did not starve my mandarin until soo jialat like you guys would imagine..... he was skinny yes, but not on the verge of death. otherwise he won't be here right now. during the initial period he got thinner. before eating pellets, he ate live brine, mysis, and henry's food. but i was not contented as it is hard to feed frozen to mandarins coz of their slow nature. and it will only pollute my tank, so it will not be feasable in the long run. good thing he ate pellets...otherwise not sure. i think im really lucky to get 1 feeding on pellets on my first try. bro jacky, it doesnt rollover and sit. but it can make clicking noises when he eat pellets off the sand. i think it has something to do with the suction sound it makes when it sucks up the food.
