  1. i think ray's method is the best for me lol. stare into the distance. not that i care. i'm not attached. hehehaHAHAHAH suckerssss
  2. A 330 day time lapse of staghorn growing. fantastic!! and look at the ricordeas! http://glassbox-design.com/2010/acropora-cervicornis-in-captivity/
  3. T_T do you know the price of the mitratus pair? and marcellae... omg sob sob sob...
  4. dusky heraldi i see at CF until sian. sometimes come in 5 at once -.-
  5. zebrasoma tangs are very fierce when mixed together... this includes purple, yellow, brown, sailfin and all tanks with this shape. on the other hand, blue tang is quite docile.. of the zebrasoma, purple is one of the worst. your tank is only 3ft and i would only advocate 1, maximum 2 tangs.. space is an issue with tangs and that's why they fight.. if space is going to be a problem, expect fighting amongst the three even if all of them settle down. as with your boxfish, don't add anymore. they are poisonous when dead and a large one can potentially kill your livestock.
  6. golden angel is on my want list too. the only centropge i aim to get this time round is aurantius, colini and joculator. and maybe flame too just coz it's cliche and colourful still aiming for multibar and venustus. i'm confident in getting a pellet feeding multibar. Saw many times at CF already but not everytime. Venustus is the harder one..
  7. for a 3 2 2 tank, i won't even reccomend any big angels. emperor, blue face, majestic, and asfur, out of all these 4, i would say absolutely no to emperor and blueface. 3x2x2 is way too small for this two. i suggest EITHER majestic or asfur because you can get them at 2(majestic) -3(asfur) inches with adult colouration already. Get them small and when they grow too big, sell it off.
  8. just buy them from phillipines and indonesia.... that's where they come from... if you want to spend much more, get emperor from christmas island or red sea. they cost much much more but there's really not much difference except for the colour. colour is nicer but they are quite hard to come by. the rest primarily come from indo and philipines. not many LFS will bring them in from other local as it's more expensive and defeats the purpose since you can get them cheaper from indo/phil. there's really no need to cyanide angels... especially large ones like emperor, blueface and majestic. you will be suprised how easy to catch them by chasing them into a large mist net. cyanide is usually only used for difficult to catch species that hide alot, like certain dwarf angels. In poor countries like indo, they might use cyanide but they don't use it indiscriminately... certain fishes that don't need to use cyanide, they won't use. like large angels. anyway, emperor angel is the easiest out of the three you mentioned. the other 2, blueface and majestic, might need some help getting to feed. but if you buy them from reputable LFS like coral farm or sealife, there's really no difficulty in getting a feeding specimen.
  9. i see. dunno the scientific name for this particular sp. maybe a clubber from the 2nd picture. but quite hard to see.
  10. yah same! marcellae, mitratus, goldflake. dam sian now.
  11. err...what's there to ID? that's a mantis shrimp...like you said. haha.
  12. WTS 1x eheim 1260, very new, only used for few months. price at $80, no nego. sms 97555430. collection at tana merah.
  13. wah kao lah MITRATUS. wait so long for this then NO TANK T__T
  14. must take photo of my empty space now before the tank comes. this will be the last time i see it.
  15. i might get a vortech, but i'm a tunze supporter lol. one thing i dont like about vortec is because it cannot turn. im a tunze, eheim and deltec fan ._. will get these three brands over others usually. but i might consider a vortech.
  16. finally removed my old tank and the house looks so much more spacious!! can't imagine what it will look like when the new tank comes surprisingly my wooden laminated floor under the tank looks just as good as the other parts of the house. i assumed that it will spoil due to salt water spilling under the tank before.
  17. i'm a huge fan of this theory too. i have been pumping my fishes for the past 1.5 years of reefing and all they built is resistance against ich. but lately with my recent collection its no use. i think i told you before my declivis although feeding like a horse, at 7 feedings per day, still died from ich at the end. it's making me re-think and maybe move into QT. but it's too troublesome and my choice of livestock will be compramised if i use QT.
  18. sandbed will be shallow. 2 inch should do it. i'm not a fan of DSB, plenum etc. For me, sand is only for looks. My sump has a huge space reserved for future plans, can use it as a fuge, use it to train fish to feed, keep nano fishes or anything i want basically. So even if i wanted a DSB, it won't be in the main tank. will be in the sump.
  19. sorta. i like trance and techno etc but i won't go all out to search for the nice ones. if i happen to hear them then i just go woozy (-:
  20. yeah.. like golden angel. many website say never quarantine this fish. quoted from marine center, "anything but complete luxury spells doom for this fish" this includes QT and copper. actually maybe i'm thinking of skipping QT. most of my fishes will be angels and butterflies. most of them cmi for QT and don't fare to well. maybe i'll just give them FW bath and medicated dip, and into a holding tank for few days to observe any disease outbreak. If all clear, go into main tank. How does that sound?
  21. oh yah forgot to add in the wavemakers. i haven't decided how many or which wavemakers to add first, as this is not crucial for now. when new tank come, water in, cycling stage can still decide. for now i have my tunze 6025, 6045 and 6055. Will need to get more as for pumps, i prefer eheim over all other brands. just personal preference. skimmer is more or less confirmed. i intend to get the sc 2060. as for lighting, will get razali to do something for me. all this not so rush, will get the tank in first then do more confirmation.
  22. eheim pumps are known to last >20 years lol. i rather go for eheim due to the extreme reliability. they hardly spoil. but aquabee is not bad too.
