  1. i bought the angel and butterfly book written by Dr. Randall. alot of nice photos inside and very very VERY informative behavioural, mating, feeding, territorial and social beahaviour by these fishes. there's even a table of butterflyfish behaviour patterns and fight moves used todefend territories. very informative and i realise there are tons of info that i've never known before. anyway i'll share some hybrid photos later. one interesting thing i noted is the dark phase of Forcipiger longirostris is common in Kona, hawaii. and aquarists have kept the dark longnose before only to report that the fish returned back into the yellow phase over a period of weeks to a month. LOL so i guess we can forget about wanting to get it. the black longnose was originally named as Forcipiger inornatus.
  2. public aquarium means.... like underwater world etc. it's different from LFS.. since this is off topic, thread moved.
  3. hello. for farms, pasir ris you have ah beng, iwarna, irene. for farms in lim chu kang, CF and LCK sells stuff at really good prices too. for information on how to go there, here's a link you can refer to. http://www.sgreefclub.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=84090 http://www.sgreefclub.com/forum/index.php?showforum=52
  4. there's not enough hybrids on the internet... sigh. guess that's a good thing. always in suspense
  5. video explains it all. LOL! love the british
  6. look at the yellow crescent. it's very thin and it crosses with the white bar. very unusual pattern... doesn't blend well. it's as if they stuck the yellow crescent against the straight white lines.
  7. bicolours are very difficult. place them in tanks with plenty of liverock and try weaning them onto live food first. then slowly wean to frozen and maybe even dry food.
  8. haha your back? manage to get a flight? hehe
  9. the fish you want are not uncommon at all and are so easily obtainable! there's no kick in that lol. forget about sixline, maroon clown and coral banded shimp. so common! for angels maybe you can try swallowtail angels? they're interesting and many of them are beautiful and uncommon. don't go big angels as your tank is too small. bellus angel is a good choice. hardy too. butterflies, you can try hunting for the red sea pearlscale. Chaetodon paucifasciatus. Reborn is bringing them in in their next redsea shipment. pretty and hardy. for wrasses, there are many choices. used to be my favourite group and keep all of them before already. uncommon but cheap ones you can try mccosker's flasher wrasse, cebu pylei wrasse? if money is not an issue, try rhomboid wrasse, lineatus and laboutei. these 3 are exceptionally beautiful and are seasonal fishes. appearing very infrequently during certain shipments. if you're after uncommon fishes, forget about coral beauty, six line, maroon clown, firefish etc. go for either uncommonly kept ones, or try hunting common fishes with different colour variants. like deepwater coral beauty, orange coloured lemonpeel, etc
  10. 9 bandits, 2 conspic, 1 goldflake and what's that fish at the bottom right? some angel hybrid?
  11. i called you to let you know but you didn't reply haha
  12. it does bear some resemblance to both asfur and chrysurus. i like the golden bar. it's bigger and more smudged. actually it reminds me of a yellow koran angel lol.
  13. hmm... you are looking for UNCOMMON fishes but yet cheap and hardy? ahh i love your category. fullmoon goby - priolepis nocturna (very uncommon. extremely hardy though) Semeion butterflyfish - Chaetodon seimeion. (very uncommon and only shipped as juveniles. the adults are spectacular with a brilliant brilliant sapphire blue forehead) Red sea pearlscale butterflyfish - Chaetodon paucifasciatus. hardy and not expensive. Very uncommon, comes only from the red sea. looks like the indonesia orange pearlscale butterfly but has a brilliant red tail instead of orange. easy to feed and maintain too! Lightning wrasse - Halichoeres cyanocephalus actually there are many uncommon and overlooked fishes that are being sold at dirt cheap prices. that's why it's good to know your fishes well if you want to keep these kind. perhaps letting us know what kinds you like? gobies? butterflies? angels? each family has it's fair share of uncommon, cheap and yet very overlooked.
