  11. i'm a big fan of these peninsular style minimalist scaped tanks. very open and zen concept. with more coral growth and some plating SPS or turbinaria, and your tank will look even more spectacular! good job with the slow stocking and choice of fish too.
  12. since we're on the topic, here's an old collage of all the obtainable prognathodes. LiveAquaria has brought in all the obtainable prognathodes, even Guyanensis x aya. the only one out of their reach so far has been basabei.
  13. these are the best images of the two species in the wild.
  14. Rare fish alert!! Juvenile scythe butterflyfish photographed few months ago in catalina island. gorgeous! and st paul rocks native, Prognathodes obliquus.
  15. a couple of unusual and rather beautiful tinker hybrids last month. the yellow on the crown may not be big, but at least there is no black.
  16. v rare tricinctus butterfly at snorkeling depth in lord howe! less than 1-2 m deep.
  17. Cebu Pylei wrasses. used to be uncommon but nowadays even more common than the regular pylei wrasse. Rare blackfoot lionfish. CF sometimes bring this in. i think i've seen at least 2-3 to date. an almost "latezonatus" ocellaris! a very yellow scopas from philippines.
  18. hybrid bicolor angel? the yellow and blue bicolor angel? there has only been one documented hybrid of a bicolor angel in the world. do you mean Centropyge vrolicki? the half black/pearl scale angel. those often hybridize with lemonpeels and eibli angelfish.
  19. guyanensis is such a gorgeous fish. i had the chance to see 2 small (2.5 inch) specimens in blueharbor the last time i visited Koji. it is so beautiful, but i wish they were more affordable.
  20. these images were taken from fishbase, and were photographed in India where they were sold as food fish.
