  1. tanaka's true temminckii from japan. can see the non displaying photo that the top part is a reddish/orange and the bottom part is dark green. however the colour appears to be more intense than the ones at iwarna and reborn. maybe because this one looks much bigger.
  2. that's alot alot alot of livestock for your tank size. good that you're removing some..
  3. smallest one is 3inch+ largest is around 4 inch. only 4 came, 2 were gone within the firs 10 mins.
  4. just enough for all the mysis to touch the prazi. i dissolve the mysis first then strain it and transfer it to a spoon. then i pour a little bit of prazi into the spoon, just enough for all the mysis to come in contact with it. then i just pour the contents of the spoon into the tank to feed my fish. i find soaking henry's food better though. the frozen chunks of food are like sponges. the prazi look into it much better. but either way both are just as ok.
  5. here's brian greene with a little helfrichi dartfish in his bag.
  6. thanks! shifted it somewhere else. it's not opening up too well there because it was near a RBTA
  7. at the full reply section, click choose file, then select your file, then attach the file and post.
  8. praziquantel is a safe drug and can be administered into the main tank. but do water change. first you must know what you want to use it for. it is used to remove intestinal parasites and body flukes and unless you suspect your fish have any of those, you do not need to use it. for treatment of internal parasites most commonly found in angels and wrasses, soak food in prazi for 10 mins and feed the fish. continue treatment for 1 week or more if need be. prazi is very safe so overdosing is not a problem. for treatment of flukes, either prazi the fish or just do FW dip. i prefer FW dip as it's more useful. i personally tried bathing them in prazi for flukes but it did nothing and needs to be done for long periods of time. as for safety with xenias, it's not anecdotal and no hard and fast rule. people in reef central report having problems with xenias while others don't. i personally dosed it in my main tank with xenias and nothing happened. i did have 2 fish casualties though. so like any other drug, i would reccomend dosing it in a quarantine tank if you must, but for flukes only. as a rule of thumb i generally don't dose anything in the main tank now. if treating for internal parasites, dosing in water will not help. you must soak the food in it and feed.
  9. starfish generally are difficult because they feed on bacterial films and other detritus and debris present in mature aquarium. in very new aquariums, these might not be present and starfishes can take up to a year to die from slow starvation and lack of nutrition. they are also sensitive to changes in water parameters, so drip acclimating them is essential. you can try the necklace seastar (Fromia monilis). colourful but very sensitive to changes in water parameters. don't lift them out of the water and remember to drip acclimate them. if your tank is more matured, you may want to try the blue linkia starfish (Linkia leavigata). here are two pictures of both. starfishes are gorgeous and hardy provided the right conditions are met.
  10. what do you mean not skimming. water level too low? skimming out water? need more details. on the other hand my skimmer is acting nuts...skimming out so much water..
  11. i finally caught out that ridiculously aggressive white bar maculosus. as gorgeous and as healthy and rare as it is, i can't stand for something that literally bites new fishes and even chase old fish. so easy to catch since my scape is so open and have so little rocks. i just needed to remove 2 rocks and can catch with a net liao. anyway digi if you're getting it, i hope you can keep it long enough for it to grow into a huge show stopper. if you're not getting it, i'll donate to iwarna's display tank. should be fine with you since your fish are quite big. mine just wants to wack all the smaller angels like my venustus and flame.

  17. yes! i experienced this before. the fish just tense up and spaz right? then die, with the body vibrating abit. and very stiff. i also dunno why that happens.
