  4. the bigger the skimmer, the more stuff it can skim out. the smaller the skimmer, the less stuff it can skim out. the input of waste is faster than what the skimmer can output. if u get wat i mean... best is to get a new carbon and replace it. replace carbn once every 2-4 months.
  5. dunno how to explain the position. here some pictures u judge for urself the position bah.
  6. the dog never kachiow me leh? isit that white one? i always bring my dog there play with him and sayang him haha. yes i move it lower then it start to bleach -.- cannot put too high coz my torch will sting it. anyway yea i dose iodine. iodine + regular feedings can le?
  7. there are 2 different kinds of bacteria. one to convert ammonia to nitrite, and one to convert nitrite to nitrate. the bacteria that converts ammonia to nitrite will need to build up first. only then will the bacteria that converts nitrite to nitrate can start feeding on the nitrite and multiply. nitrosomonas species of bacteria converts ammonia to nitrite, and nitrobacter species oxidises nitrite to nitrate (: if im wrong someone pls correct me haha
  8. yalo yalo! actually some things not rare but dam nice. like moorish idol. not rare at all. but hard to take care la......mine surviving for 3 weeks liao. hopefully can reach months (:
  9. i like haddonis (: but canot la. they dam aggressive right.....my tank also too small for it. will kill all fish and coral nearby. sian 1/2
  10. potters will be a "safer" choice. regals are no no. ur corals will be constantly nipped at. dun take the risk...if u wanna risk, potters will be better. less chance of nipping corals
  11. amby! teach me how to heal a bleaching brain please.
  12. yea....how? will recover or not...feeding it more often will help it heal?
  13. its not the poison that will kill them...dying anemones produce alot alot of ammonia nitrite and all the other smelly rotting stuff. also may release alot of nematocysts to "sting" other corals and wage warfare. i am quite sure..
  14. omg this is that pineapple fish or something right?!?!?!?!?!? my dad had one many many many years ago.... and the centropyge interruptus looks gorgeous! gem angelfish (:
  15. is that a big leather coral on the left hand side of ur tnak? if so, rockyboy is right. some leathers and LPS cannot be housed togeher. chemical warfare may occur and u need something to remove the chemicals from the water. carbon and polyfilters are good choices. i reccomend carbon.
  16. ur on ur way!! that ammonia reason is so high wa piang! thats good good!! give it more time and soon it will drop to 0, and ur nitrite will peak up like crazy. then give it more time and u will get 0 nitrite and alot of nitrates. do a final partial water change to eliminate the nitrate once and for all, and ur cycling is complete
  17. thats what i feed them with. will increase feedings. sometimes if i no prawn i feed fish meat...the batang fish
  18. ok thank you! already placed it lower. will feed it more often (:
  19. decided not to sell my crdinals la. they do look quite cute and i love the methodical swimming style...chromis will just make my tank look very messy what with all the fast swimming fish i already have. i need compramise. can anyone advice me on this? i think my brain is bleaching...it looks kinda transparent. if so, how do i fix? regular feedings?
  20. decided not to sell. thread closed.
  21. thank you for the kind comments (: if you are reffering to the banggai cardinals, then yea i love them. they dart in and out of the corals very gorgeously. sad to say im planning to sell my other 4 cardinals. seale's and red striped.
  22. and my blue mush. dam hardy. all my other mushies melted due to infection except this!! after vigorous fragging and pulling, it still manage to show me results. glad to have it in my tank.
