The old thread expired had some feedback from other reefers that the LFS update thread is getting quite diluted...if its possible try to stick to updates only (: any other discussion, please kindly move to the kopi tiam section where i have created a thread. Hope that everyone is happy with this (:
any updates from sealife?
im not sure... since u have an anemone, the dominant pair will try to fight over it. those that lose will have to leave and re-establish somewhere else. and again out of those 4 that are ostrasized, another pair will form and the whole cycle repeats. i think this is what happens? im not very very sure. i'm quite as confused as u are, this is the best explanation i can think of haha! any more experience reefers care to share their input?
i see i see. ok now i understand. but i dunno exactly how to determine the flow of ur equipment...so i guess u have to trail an error =x sorry not much help lol..but ya. ur mushies as long as u dun see them flapping away should be alright bah. they do need some water movement but not to an extent where they flap around. that will only cause them to fly away haha!
play around with ur equipment and have fun! (:
haha first time keeping a favia...can see some of them the polyp not doing very well, got skeleton exposed -.- probably those will die off and will try to save as much as possible
maths was never my strong subject........... now if this was in chemical terms, perhaps i could help.
hmm lemme try to understand...so, u r using ur AB5000 for ur return + chiller right? so like this the flow is not as strong as if u used the AB5000 for return, and eheim 1260 for chiller? when u observe ur corals swaying more without the AB5000, isit becoz of less flow?
one of them will grow big and dominant. that will be the female...hmm im not sure, but in the wild, usually one big female and one big male, and the rest are all small males. i dunno if this will be replicated in the aquarium. it might, but if not, then a pair will be formed and the rest will be terrorised.
traded away one rock of my anthellia to my cousin...now i have 2. starting to open up...although i dunno why aftre 2 days they still haven bloom 100%. they smell a little funky too....better keep a close eye on them. hope they dont melt..
omg?! WOW that is amazing. seriously. SIX clowns in one anemone. clap clap confetti confetti liondance! that must really be a sight to behold huh! im so jealous...i have 2 retarded clwons that refuse to host anything
hi. care is very similar to the prata. in fact, i think they are similar in terms of care requirements. moderate to good lighting, low to moderate flow. usually on the sand. on the rocks is fine too. yes feed small small pieces of prawn once every week to 2 weeks. dun over feed them.
zzzz. just go internet and read lor. lol..and im sure most of my knowledge fake one XD cant really trust the internet hmm? god luck wif ur scaping! im going to play psp now.
i wanna be a doctor la. marine biologist...lol
anthellias do not pulse my friend. lol. at least they do not pulse obligatorily like xenias do....doesnt mtter if u anthelias do not pulse..its normal. actually, pulsing effects of xenias are not even fully understood...some xenias dun pulse but contonue to grow, some pulse alot. but what i read is that ph of 8.3 and abv, along wif iodine will help with the pulsing.
those in the videos, are the real white pulsing xenias. u see the petals are so thick, like cloves.
those stations take longer to hatch. bbs need alot of light. and no i dunno where to get those. u can just put the eggs in a plastic bottle and bubble air tru it, and shine light on it.
xenias need a Ph of 8.3 and above to pulse. any lower and pulsing seizes.
