  1. for normal algae, turbo snails, hermit crabs work well. tuxedo urchins are my best choice because they are real hard workers...and might even eat ur bryopsis too! i have heard stories of tuxedo urchins chewing through power cabels so i wont be suprised if they eat that algae, ok edit. found an article that supports the eating of bryopsis by the tuxedo urchin. this is by far the ebst algae-vore (if there is such a word) there is. i have 2 and it keeps my tank spotless by consuming whatever algae in their path. they do consume corraline, but prefer the other green algae.
  2. to be honest, i dont see much algae. more sponges than algae. i dunno but they do look like bryopsis... especially the second picture. any algae experts here can clarify? if it is indeed bryopsis, it is very difficult to remove as nothing will eat it. manual removal is best, along with control of nutrient levels.
  3. ups for today. come on!! the common name for this is the red-dot dottyback or borneo dottyback. you dont see this fish often in LFS so its quite rare. ups ups
  4. be patient. your tank has not finish cycling yet. wait for it to cycle finish. ammonia and nitrite should be zero. as your tank stabalise, ur algae should lessen. new tanks always have plenty of algae. u can get some critters to eat the algae after ur tank cycle.
  5. dont have any fairy or flashers yet, but will keep this info in my mind when i do get them! thanks
  6. true octo is the local name bro. the scientific name is Euphyllia Paradivisa. as for all euphyllid corals, they like moderate light and moderate flow. no blasting of flow against them as their sharp septa (skeleton), can tear their flesh. they do not need to be fed but appreciate feeding of small meaty foods like mysis.
  7. just a quick note.. this picture was taken months ago. currently it is bigger and looks more handsome. with better colouration too.. because it has grown bigger. and probably all the chasing of other fish have made it bold and coloured up
  8. thanks law and bigbird ^^ ups! i know its a fierce fish but its also very cute!
  9. err..the grape algae u can easily get at coral farm... the purple coral is a clove coral and are very common in most farms. upz

  11. oh and btw, i saw ur blog. that is not a Plagiotremus rhinorhynchos. it is pseudodax moluccanus. the chiseltooth wrasse. please know what you are selling in the first place. and go read up more about the livestock you are selling. what in the world is "A cup" "B cup" and bazhang coral?
  12. speaking of yourself? bro no offence but what do you like about this site? the fact that it is a great place to put up your business? i don't see you enjoying this site like the rest of us. interact with other reefers and posting your experience. This site is for reefers to share. not rip others off. by ur definition of great site u mean fantastic for business? then i suggest you look elsewhere. because this isnt the place you are looking for.
  13. thanks bro! yes have heard about the infamous scotts...
  14. Hi reefers. would like to know if adding a male fairy or flasher wrasse to a system without females will result in loss of colour? Have heard of this before..

  16. Hey, after days of trying to catch the fella out, finally managed to get this fish out. S > my dottyback as its getting too aggressive and its preventing me from adding new fishes.. i dunno the name of it and thus label it as "uncommon". it looks like a splendid dottyback but its not. i believe someone here ever ID for me before but i forgot it. anyway, you don't see this species often so it is quite uncommon. the fish has grown since and the colour has improved. size is about 2 inches, and eats everything even nori.. leave a comment if u are interested. pilots and lurkers please steer clear. prefer to sell it to people who can care for it. starting bid $2. minimum increament of $1. bid ends 18th september at 6PM. i will not entertain PMs as its an open bidding and not private. Happy bidding
