not sure. haha. lyretail anthias aka blue eye anthias. get them whent hey are small. cuter. if u have a 3ft, keep 1 is ok lah. they grow rather slowly compared to other fish i find. 3ft for them is fine. here's my little girl saying hi to you hehe. tail growing back from my dottyback last time. colour yet to return.

For those who don't know what the vanuatu exquisite looks like, this is a picture of all exquisites. Vanuatu ranks number 1 in my list followed my africa/maldives such a pretty fish.
-
never seen it before too. the vanautu one is extremely pretty!!!! even the pectoral fin is outlined with pink. yes africa one very nice. my all time favourite wrasse centropyge cool hor. joculator and aurinatus. wa... btw bro comy, my tank ah. maybe nto overstocked, but i dont really like the look of too many big fishes swimming. make the tank look cluttered =x
-
anuything can be done! hehe. love my new exquisite wrasse.... however i prefer the vanautu one. yellow dorsal fin super chio.
-
Updates from SL - golden butterflies - blue tangs - powder blue - big radiant wrasse. very nice colouration with abit of blue on the tail! - exquisite wrasses - flame angel - yellow tangs - emperor angel - blue face - lyretail hogfish - anampses twistii. not commonly seen! - mandarins - purple tiles - sebae clown?? - firefishes (purple and red) - powder brown - racoon butterfly - small pink skunk clowns some others i forgot
-
better not. mixing centropyges in a small tank is not a good idea. already in my 3ft tank my coral beauty killed my flame angel. if u add the coral beauty in, ur flame will kill it.
-
thanks james! long time no chat. coral beauty is about 2.5inch. super fat and healthy. eats everything... got it from henry. those who seen the coral beauties at henry will know that the colour is not like normal ones. very rich orange and purplish. and a neon blue outline of the fins

yea everyone in my family say "fighting fish can live in salt water mehzxzxxzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz " lol... yellow tang anyone?
-
yep. and letting some of them go too. WTS my yellow tang as its growing too fast. will trap it soon. coral beauty must go too if i have a chance to get it. hehe. otherwise biolaod too high also.

Kite Butterfly fish not eating
yikai replied to stanleytan's topic in FOWLR (Fish-only with Live-rock)
are you referring to Parachaetodon ocellatus? the common name is kite butterfly. these are generalised feeders feeding on bethnic creatures, worms etc. hard to get feeding. like copperband -
better look for it fast.. i will be super worried if i were you.

after successfully selling away my dottyback, clownfish and other aggressive fish, i can finally add wrasses. Not too long ago i introduced the lineopunctatus wrasse. today joining him will be my all time favourite, exquisite. Really impressed with bro reddevilz's alpha male flashing exquisite. sorry for the poor picture quality. use handfone to capture. sry if it appears too blue also. never turn on my white lights. the lineopunctatus flaring and flashing at the exquisite. what suprised me was that the exquisite flashed back! can see fins flaring and some blue streaks on it momentarily. no where near bro reddevilz's one but hopefully will grow into an alpha male someday. Feeding immediately on pellets upon introduction into betta box. testiment to quality lifestock at sealife.

starki damsels are nicer IMO. but these are way cool too. both are peaceful compared to those devils.
-
lmao ur description always crack me up. very witty

GO occasionally bring in.
-
nope. its just an ordinary nuisense crab.

my new pet. caught countless of them over the past months. still have a few left in my tank. decided to keep this one because its so big. should have about 2-3 more. 1 of them same size as this :-D
-
it will eventually feed..at least it is picking on food.
-
yah terry is right. tomini is fierce. bro amby are u adding anymore new fish?
-
looks alright to me, albeit slightly thinner than i would like. the arch on its belly should be full and round. try separating it in a separate betta box or something and try using live brine? these fishes are generally easy to feed. not sure why urs is not feeding. live brine, adult brine shrimp has not much nutritional value unless enriched with additives like selcon etc. however i find the live brine shrimps very useful in weaning stubborn fishes to eat. once they start to eat, feeding them frozen food is easy. the initial bite is the hardest, and with live food, usually makes it easier.

the favia frag i sold u looks like a Favites flexuosa. if u want to try, u can try buying the same favia species. take awhile to examine the shape of the polyps and overall appearance. there is another kind of favia, that has bigger rounder polyps. usually with red centers and green edge. these are coloquially known as watermelon favias. these are very beautiful too. however i have not observe strong sweeper tentacles from these specimens in my tank. probably a more peaceful kind. As with other coral family, acans, euphyllias, zoanthids and mushrooms. placement of similar corals in same families pose no significant or any damage at all. example a hammer and a torch, both wont kill each other. i would say go ahread and add another favia. but take time to observe at night wether the frag i gave u is actually harming ur new favia. if the tentacles just touch the new favia and dont do anything, ur fine. if the tentacle sticks to the new coral and the new coral contract, then separate them. here's a pic of the red and green favia. very common in LFS.

ahh i remember this article from wetwebmedia regarding bristletooths . good website bro glad someone is using it. they are not hard to feed. most importantly, check that their mouths are not damaged. being bristletooths, their mouth generally are quite protruded and may be damaged during shipment. if they are in tanks in LFS, investigate their mouths. any trauma? bleeding? sores? all these indicate damage to mouth and generally do not feed. if mouth seems ok, feeding them is easy. this family generally not difficult to feed. can ask LFS test feed for u if they allow. also, if u see them pecking on the glass or algae etc, its an extra bonus i would go for tomini as they are smallish in LFS and looks decent with bright orange dorsal and ana-l fin, and a striking white deeply lunated tail. kole eyes are cool too! remind me of police man. dunno why. to prove their effectiveness, even turtles are not spared from algae growing on their shells

im not sure leh bro. favia also got different kinds. i have 1 more lumi green favia frag if u want lol. the only place i can put it is at a corner where it cant sting my other corals. but that corner doesnt showcase its true beauty.

cant see pictures =( hope its fixed soon. and glad u enjoy the frag edit* i see it now. very nice LPS! nice tank.
