  1. i dunno leh probably. oh yeah i forgot rhomboids are only endemic to marshalls. your rhomboid i kept until over 4 inch, and the tail never develop to the long trailing roseafascia kind. and the pelvic fins are very short
  2. rhomboid is boring but it's always been my fav. it's the only wrasse that i've kept before and i will keep it again. oh don't worry about the roseafascia. i will turn 1 into a male regardless. besides, both are not entirely female now. they are sub-males if i remember them correctly. not to worry about the rhomboid and lineatus. i won't add them in until muchh later. besides, from the threads in RC, roseafascia are very fierce. hooded not likely unless vanuatu shipments reappear. majorie? fat hope unless they show up in fiji shipments but i dunno when we'll get to see it! pintail...... sigh. i think this 1 must continue waiting
  3. yes i know the difference between alpha male and male. i've seen rhomboids that are big/small with these traits. alpha = size and size = not a factor. therefore, the alpha-ness does not affect
  4. ahh a very wise reply. time for my gene mapping to come in handy. likewise i've noticed two distinct types of rhomboid wrasses from hawaii shipments. type 1 has short rhomboid tails and short pelvic fins (yours) type 2 has very very long pelvic fins (like lineatus), and a long tapering rhomboid tail (like rosefascia). i don't know if this is a geographical variant or just a minor trait characteristic. but i notice these two different traits in rhomboids of similar sizes. which means size is not a factor.
  5. so delicious. i will just eat it for breakfast, lunch and dinner evreyday
  6. yes. that day's unfinish cornflakes. i mean clownfish
  7. hehe. not me i want to rebuild my rhomboid harem in my new tank. my old tank i had to decom before i made it complete. rhomboid harem, roseafascia pair and lineatus. 3 kinds enough
  8. terryz! roseafascia will develop a split tail lah. lol. i hope mine will grow to this size
  9. yalor painful lesson. out of 4, 1 cloudy eye, 1 ruffled scales, 1 colour not as nice and left 1 which looked the best out of all. mitratus is the hardiest out of all the tinker's complex if i'm not wrong, and also the most aggressive. such hardy and aggressive fish shouldn't die so easily.
  10. no use lol. steven reserved it for himself that day it arrived from the shipping liao
  11. remember i posted before. angels and butterflies don't do well in QT. some reefers here say no no no everything can QT. ta-da. let my suffering serve as a warning to all reefers here. i'm not saying they're impossible, but they just don't take QT well. actually. coz i try all the difficult fish, that's why lol. colini and goldens don't do well at all even in maintank. in qt it's cfm die. the mitratus is a shocker though. it shouldnt have died. probably un-healthy to begin with but nevermind. but all my other easy fish in QT are still around. my sailfin blennies, and my roseafascia. goes to show that my qt conditions were not that bad afterall. since i do quite strict maintenance... i already decomm my holding tank
  12. meh. a dead mitratus is not a fun mitratus oh well nevermind. i wonder how the other 3 at reborn are doing. thanks for the help though! lineatus is a nice wrasse. but like we've agreed, they do grow very fat and dull after awhile. but if it's flashing at the roseafascia, it should maintain it's colouration for awhile more. when they flash, the ana| and dorsal fins turns white right? and pectoral fins turn orange. very nice. it's ok. i will get the roseafascia back after a month so the dominance of the lineatus won't last long. just hope the roseafascia don't jump out from your lineatus.
  13. wah that's a VERY BEAUTIFUL queen!! kena poison liao
  14. i've seen baby freshly hatched banggai cardinals grow to full term adults in a tank with very very little commotion, peaceful tank mates and gentle flow.
  15. why do you put livestock in when your tank have not even cycled and some of us adviced you not to? you said you put the market prawn in. this prawn is to kick start the cycling. you're only going to kill your livestock like this. the link posted by peacemaker is about cycling and i presume you did not read "well..as expected...the zoa didnt do well due to presence of ammonia(not opening up and white sludge appearing around it due to stress?" if you expected this why did you add the zoa inside in the first place? you know that it will die from the ammonia spike caused by cycling. read through the link peacemaker provided please.
  16. ok. too much wave will cause SPS to die? like if kena blasted by a 6105 within 2 ft.
  17. the small inefficient wavemakers are from my old 3ft tank. most likely will use them either for removing dead spot, or to aim at 1 big colony of SPS. yep the shadow spots are not all a bad thing. my tank won't be 100% SPS. need some shaded apreas for softies and LPS too! and thanks!
  18. that rock is connected to the giant piece of rock. i can shift it slightly to the right so that the are you circled is less cluttered for SPS bro thanks alot alot for the comments. it really helps! keep them coming if got any left
  19. i'm only using a 2 tube T5 to light up the tank while i take a picture of the scape haha. the temporary T5 is 3ft and my tank is too big to support it. so it's slanted on the right side thus the dark area you circled. will be using 2x 250W MH, 10k bulbs. to counter the potential yellowish colour from the 10k, will be adding 4 tubes of blue T5 39W. the spot where you circle has flow but is very minimal compared to the rest of the tanks. fear not, because i've not finish buying my wavemakers yet. i am currently using a 6025, 6045, 6055 and 6105. will be adding another 6105.
  20. very nice fts! your wrasse collection is coming along nicely! spot a lineatus, exquisite, rhomboid, flame, naoko and my laboutei! glad it doing well! the colour looks very good too
  21. ooo. ok thanks. i was worried that the 6 inches will be too shallow and can't keep anything. i was wrong then! lucky got SPS guru here haha.
  22. haaha i dunno. that's what they call it. but very nice nonetheless! :welldone:
  23. i've been waiting for someone to ask this it's actually going to be a problem. because the rocks is very high i think. it's 6 inches from the highest point. isit going to be a problem? if so then i need to re-scape liao D:
