  1. Chrysiptera galba. Canary damselfish. A gorgeous bright yellow fish with a lovely forked tail. Unfortunately we cannot get it. From only the cook islands. Availability : None. Only from Cook Islands. Maybe we can see it one day. Aggressiveness : 4/10?
  2. Chrysiptera tricincta, the Tuxedo damsel. Not to be confused with the other similarly coloured aggressive cousins from indonesia/philippines. the Tuxedo damsel is from a different genus and has a different shape. it is lovely, peaceful and extremely beautiful. Availability : Not available at the moment. Fiji fish. But hopefully in time to come, we might get to see this lovely fish. Aggressiveness : 3/10
  3. Received a sms from Yellowtang asking for reccomendation on some nice and interesting damsels. So i've decided to do a little thread to showcase some of the more interesting damsels/chromis obtainable in the hobby. Contrary to popular belief, damsels/chromises come in all colours and not all are common and aggressive. I've seen many misconceptions in this hobby from "all butterflies are not reef safe", "dwarf angels reef safe is 50-50" etc etc, and now this. "all damsels/chromises are aggressive and ugly". wroong anyway i will talk about damsels and chromises today. It is inevitable that some damsels and chromises are aggressive. it's in the nature of this family to be territorial. I will now show you some of them, and rate them in terms of aggressiveness and availability. Bear in mind there is almost no such thing as a non aggressive damsel. There are however, sightly milder mannered ones.
  4. One beautiful small sized Xanthocephalus butterfly at CF. a few evansi anthias. red scooter blennies exquisite fairy wrasse
  5. jon i think u need to specify what in the world is one "rollandi".. to those who don't know... it's Chrysiptera rollandi.
  6. Cream angel is not rare. Indian ocean shipments will carry it
  7. that's a bad photo of P. boylei!! this one. this is a live one in japan. P. boylei has been sent to japan a few times already but many of them died. there is one living specimen now that lives in a dim tank with only cleaner shrimps to replicate deep water setting. it's alive for many years now. unfortunately it injured it dorsal fin recently. perhaps the most famous pic is richard pyle's pair of boylei which he kept after collecting it in the cook islands. but they died eventually. too difficult.
  8. ahh "Halichoeres" rubricephalus a v interesting and seldom seen wrasse. the reason why i " " the Genus name is because some authors believe it belongs to a different genus.
  9. firstly, clown tang aggression level is about 9/10. and it's a difficult fish. sohal's aggression level is about 10/10. add these two in your tank already full of other tangs..... boom
  10. if you love your fish you will remove some. too many liao :0 beautiful zoas though! the first pic is v nice
  11. if multibars are difficult, boylei is about a 100 times worse. both belong to the same genus. boyleis are many times deeper and many times harder.
  12. oo. tahiti butterfly. nice fish. seldom seen. rare Chaetodon trichrous.
  13. ups. a v good reefer with good intentions
  14. crap it's dam nice man bro. minimalist scaping is terrific. very reef central quality. gorgeous!
  15. if you're patient, you can find entirely blue flavicauda angels. whole body navy blue.
  16. yes C. flavicauda. but it's the smallest dwarf angel and it's perfect for nano tanks. if you like it, it will make a great addition to your tank. becareful though, flavicauda angel can get rather aggressive when settled down. it should have no problem feeding soon. it's a very easy fish.
  17. centropyge multispinis? you like this fish? not many people like this fish coz of the dull lack luster colouration. but some specimens can look quite nice. multispinis is rather shy and abit cryptic. it will take some time before it starts feeding.
  18. omg it's like sex education... don't risk STD. wear a condom!
  19. probably. it takes awhile. i've fed prazi so many times that my declivis butterfly eats the pure white praziquantel residue. so technically i pour prazi in my tank and it will eat up all the white stuff.. how's your multicolor? ok?
  20. gonios are difficult but not impossible.
  21. no questions in this forum is considered stupid. we're just shocked at the assumption so please pardon us. 12 angels in a tank in only 2 weeks is definitely NOT cycled. the tank is going to crash and it just did. so i hope your friend learns from his mistake and do things the right way.
  22. omg...? vomit out the poison? ok this is nonsense. not true at all. first of all, queen angels and french angels are NOT cyanide caught. cyanide fishing is only restricted to indonesia and philippines. and the use of cyanide fishing in the last few years have greatly been reduced. secondly, how did you friend get the idea that the fish can "vomit" out the poison from their body? cyanide affects the organs of the fish and cause slow death via organ failure and other problems. and you still have not given us information about your tank. what size what parameters without all this information we cannot help you.
