  1. Alamak, all of you should stop this bro/sis teasing! I think I saw a thread where you and lemon were calling each other sis and I really thought you were a sis! Anyway I hope they don't breed la, my flow in the tank quite strong, the babies sure get thrown about one
  2. One kena eaten my anemone, another died in a tank crash last year
  3. Thanks for the compliments sis onizuka I thought that the chaeto doesn't really help export a lot of nutrients in the nano tank, since my 12 gallon tank had a constant 20 to 30ppm of NO3 with the exact same basket of chaeto. I even wanted to remove the basket cos it was unsightly to have something hanging there. Decided not to cos it's a nice place to cultivate pods which my seahorses love to snack on. One of them has even made it her home, sleeping inside at night to shield itself from the wavemaker.
  4. Bought from T95 is it? They always have a lot. Kept a pair once, their colour fades as they grow larger. I think they need a 4ft or larger tank, but quite nice, their synchronised swimming haha
  5. I got it from Home Fix, they have a line of toiletries and utensils holders molded from clear acrylic or some other plastic. I was looking for transparent ones cos I thought it allows more light to pass thru, and not so unsightly
  6. Ooooh... Nice tank and even nicer collection of soft corals. I love your yumas especially I'm sure it will look even nicer as you add to your collection
  7. My water change regime is 20 to 25% change with NSW every 5 to 7 days, but recently got lazy and only did so every 10 days, roughly. Last weekend, out of curiosity, I decided to test the NO3, since I've never tested it ever since cycling was completed. I was expecting it to be between 40 to 80ppm, since my feeding routine pollutes the water quite a bit; 2/3 cube of frozen mysis shrimps, and 3/2 cube of Henry's reef gourmet. No skimmer, and only left with one tennis ball sized clump of chaeto after donating most of it to peacemaker, so I don't actually have anything to export nutrients effectively. Guess what, my NO3 is undetectable when testing with the API test kit! I have never gotten such results except for when the tank was just tested or when I'm testing on newly mixed water. Even with my previous tank, the lowest I was able to manage the NO3 levels at was 10 to 20ppm. That said, the API test kit doesn't detect less than 5ppm of NO3, so it's not non-existent. But still, that's a terrific result I never expected Finally, FTS for now:
  8. Super greedy cleaner shrimp setting up new shop closer to feeding area
  9. The zoas have all recovered their colours Amby bro, here's the pink metallics from you Original colours:
  10. The rest of the rock of yumas seem to be morphing colours as well There were 3 big ones and about a dozen small polyps, but don't know why the small polyps all shrunk to about 1cm in size. The first to change colour as pictured earlier in the thread:
  11. Haha, I didn't know about the new design. Maybe he's cutting cost, but I do remember him saying that the downward deflector is what makes it more efficient than the stock Tunze cup, prevents the bubbles from going back down the neck. I'll see the performance of my micro cup before deciding whether to get it Hey bro, I actually thought of adding an inverted 50 cent tikum ball shell to act as the downward deflector, maybe you can try that. Low cost and should do the work as well in theory
  12. All my zoas almost fully recover liao, most of the polyps look like that, but there's one single polyp that exceeds your benchmark leh
  13. Fuzzy bro, I think you should cut your losses and just get rid of it early, before it dies or introduces funny stuff into the system and affect your future corals. Doesn't seem like it can be saved already
  14. Eh, how come your bubble deflector is missing the inverted cup to deflect the bubbles downwards? Steve claims that's the most expensive component of the cup together with the half sphere. Picture taken from his website:
  15. Wah that's very nice! Your trip down to the farm was worth it after all.
  16. Thanks for sharing your personal experience, this is a very important real life lesson for newbies who are attracted to these cute creatures. But still..... I can't help feeling sorry for your loss Oh besides massive water change and keeping the fish in a separate tub, I read somewhere that massive amounts of carbon will also help absorb toxins in emergencies like that.
  17. Not to say that the rest of the tank is less interesting than the liverocks, but you've got some seriously beautiful liverocks, especially the large flat piece in the centre! Very nice set up, hope to see more of your tank soon
  18. Eh amby, you got an ID for the top left corner zoa? I got one giant colony of that, quite nice for the price.
  19. 5% water change will have no visible effect on your nitrates even if it's daily 5% of 40-60ppm is only 2 to 3ppm of nitrate exported, I think the fish will poop and pollute the water faster than you can change it out.
  20. Ah nice pinkie, I should have gotten something that day, but then... gotta control!
  21. Can try Boyu 308, otherwise you're pretty much out of choices already if you want the skimmer to be in the back compartment.
  22. I looooove looking at nano cubes....... and yours is looking great! Love the chaeto in FR too, do keep us posted on the results, I'm quite keen to try it also...
  23. LOL! Is that the same fish that got eaten in the 2nd pic?
  24. I haven't used the Tunze 9002 yet, but have been hearing nothing but good things about it. Hope my mod doesn't affect the performance Wow, you haven't used it yet? If you don't intend to use it ever, do consider selling it to me
  25. Very nice pico set up! What are you intending to keep in this?
