Oh do you mean this one? I got this from ML free when I was buying something else there. Originally had 3 polyps, but I ran out of super glue and since it is stuck on a dead shell, I just stuck it in the sand first. Sadly, one polyp floated off the other day, cannot find it now.

Thanks bro, was using your tank as reference (and lesson on what not to do - when your tank crashed ). Thanks for taking the time to reply my queries regarding the 24G nanocube too. BTW, I installed the 2700l/h pump to feed the chiller, super strong jet of water even after traveling thru 3.5 metres of hose!

You mean this one? Only the one on the extreme right seems to reflect the true colour leh. All the zoas have been in the tank for only a few weeks, haven't recover from my constant molesting while transferring and tank scaping haha. The ones on the left supposed to be pink zoas too, but they lost colour after shock from the change of light. Will upgrade my lights soon

The crab MIA liao. Probably became a nice meal for the blotchy. I couldn't find it even when I was moving the rocks around that day. And yep, my ls are all behaving weirdly. But that's also why I like marine fish, more personality

You thought that my fish was bigger than live rock, who knows what you will end up buying at lfs hahaha!

WTB Unused / new Live Sand / Puka Shell
albinosage replied to onizukaa's topic in Sell off/Pasar Malam Shop
Ah that one.... Sorry bro, can't help - gave away my extra live sand when setting up earlier this year. Got some normal sand that hasn't touched water yet to give. You can try buying coral reef live sand from RB, saw one box there 2 visits back, you can call to ask if they still have. Slightly more than 3 red notes. -

How much you need? I've got dry sand, grade 00, but only a bit, maybe 2 rectangular takeaway containers worth. -
Female seahorse hunting for pods in the day: While the female is away, male seahorse peeps at pompom crabs mating (seriously!): View from the back : Pompom crab carrying eggs 2 weeks later:

Thanks bro, need to go gai gai with you soon and hunt for gems! No la, it is swimming against the glass, actually it is between 2.5 and 3 inches from mouth to tail. The small clownfish alters the perspective and makes it look big, hahaha. Yup, all thanks to you for taking good care of it, it is really in good shape and health. It is the most entertaining resident in the tank now. No sps or lps for me. I prefer soft corals like rics and zoas, cos can get them from bros here in frags to patch up bald spots in the rocks haha. Maybe will keep a clam when I'm confident enough, or a small anemone (don't worry, got experience keeping them )

Tank inhabitants so far: 1 x Borbonius anthias 1 x Red ocellaris clownfish 1 x Mandarin fish 2 x Tigertail seahorse 4 x Turbo snails 3 x Bumblebee snails 2 x Cleaner shrimps 3 x Pompom crabs 2 x Porcelain crabs Super vain borbonius anthias from bro thomas_lim: Dunno why he loves having his pictures taken, seriously, he rushes to the front and poses whenever I'm with a camera. Maybe thomas_lim takes photos of his tank often and is a familiar sight haha Terror comes in small packages, 1 inch long clownfish: Now you know why ML lists it as red ocellaris clownfish. It's really this red, depending on how close to the light it swims. Female mandarin fish that hunts bristle worms for fun: Feeding on mysis, Henry's food and all other meaty stuff. Female tigertail, part of a pair: Both trained to eat mysis shrimps and hunt for pods in the basket of chaeto in the day. Porcelain crab, the smaller one is MIA: Bubble coral is home to the clownfish, and sometimes, pompom crab too.

Hi all, just wanna share pics of my recently upgraded 24 gallon JBJ nanocube. Many have asked me to post pictures of my tank previously, but then, shy lah... I'm more interested in fish, inverts and crustaceans, whatever little corals I have is just to add small splatters of colours here and there. 25 Feb 2009 - Old tank in the process of tearing down (12G nanocube): 25 Feb 2009 - New tank in the process of transferring livestock: 28 Mar 2009 - FTS for now: Nothing much compared to many other old birds, but thanks for looking anyway Will post more pics when time permits.

I suppose your tank has been running for 3 weeks already right? Did you add in a lot of live stock within this period? I fed henry's food once daily too. Did water change every 3 to 4 days when I was using that tank, even with a skimmer, cos the water volume is small, nitrate builds up easily. 2 days after water change, it shoots up to 15ppm already.

WTS: Nano Pumps and Cooling fan
albinosage replied to albinosage's topic in Sell off/Pasar Malam Shop
All reserved pending collection Thanks for looking! -
Very interesting and entertaining crab to keep in a nano tank, but as the name suggests, it is easily broken like porcelain. I have a similar one. Lost the right claw and a couple of legs while scrambling for food, then when it grew back, he lost the left claw and the other legs. Last I saw him, he had NO claws or legs, just a floating head, literally! Probably got into a fight with the other crabs.

Need advise on all in one covered tank.
albinosage replied to jminter's topic in New to the Marine Aquaria Hobby
Actually the filtration compartments are sufficient for marine use, since most of the water is also filtered by live rocks. What matters is what you put inside the compartments - try to replace any stock filter media like bio-rings or charcoal (I heard that carbon that comes packaged with tanks like this are usually not suitable for marine use). The bio-rings will trap detritus which leech nitrates into the water. As for powerhead, most will advocate one with a higher flowrate, although I suppose yours is sufficient as the tank is around 30 litres and 600l/h is 20 times the volume of your tank. Circulation is quite important for the reef set up - I don't know if a wave maker will make your tank too cramped, but you can compensate for that by using a higher rated power head, that's what I did with my 12 gallon tank last time. -
Rio 6HF 1400l/h pump - $28 Bought brand new at $40 2 weeks ago and used for only 4 days. The pump comes with all original accessories, manual and box. This is one of the recommended pump upgrade from the stock low powered JBJ nanocube pumps (800l/h), which is insufficient for marine use. The pump fits nicely in the back compartment of a 24 gallon tank with room to spare. SPECS: Rio HyperFlow magnetic drive aqua pump HF 06 Watt:12 Size:100mm x 53mm x 65mm Flow rate :1400l/hr(0cm); 1330l/hr(30cm); 590l/hr(120cm) Max head : 190 cm Hopar Clip-on Cooling Fan (20W) - $8 Bought at $12 in Feb, used for only 3 or 4 weeks. Fan is 12cm across, able to cool my nano tank down to between 26*C and 28*C. Unknown Brand Pump 480l/h - $4 (Stock pump that came with JBJ 12 gallon DX tank) Came together with the tank bought brand new in December, changed it out immediately. Only been used to mix salt water in bucket. _______________________________________ Please PM me if interested. FCFS means priority will be given to whoever can deal first. Prices stated are already the "best price" possible, discounts/freebies will be given to whoever buys more than one item from me lowballers please stay away.

What's this on my mandarin?
albinosage replied to MbmC's topic in Disease treatment/parasite/pest control
Yah, bad habit la, camera model voyeur. I think I should indulge in something healthier like beoing female models instead of exif data hahaha. Glad your mandarin is still healthy. I am 90% sure that is the bone, compared the position of the white protrusion, it is at the exact same place my mandarin has a protrusion, but it is covered by skin. -
All down the toilet bro... Haha. I try not to get too attached to my livestock. As for corals attached to rocks, they go down the chute in a plastic bag.
-
Hammy bro, hope you are upgrading and not decomming ah...
-
Yup, take it slow bro, it can be quite rewarding when you fix your problems one by one and see the results slowly emerge.

WTB: zoas frags, yumas, mushies, rics, blastos
albinosage replied to yongshun's topic in Sell off/Pasar Malam Shop
Eh nice... Shun, if you don't want, mind if I get from chris? -
You mean that the circulation stops for 8 hours a day? That's 1/3 of the day man! Constant circulation is the most fundamental need of an aquarium, letting the water sit stagnant for 8 hours is a recipe for absolute disaster. You don't shut yourself in a sealed room for 8 hours a day without fresh air, so why should the fish? If power consumption is your concern, get a lower wattage pump. Personally I don't think pumps will consume so much power that shutting it off for 8 hours will make a difference. At the most, you'll save a few cents a day - if this is the kind of money you are trying to scrimp on, maybe you shouldn't keep an aquarium at all. Apologies in advance if I sound harsh, I usually don't sugar coat my words when stating facts

Air con hahaha. Tank is located in my office. Weekend will use standing fan when the air con is off, top up one bucket of water or so every Monday.
