I hope you are not talking about mine, cos it would be too underpowered for your 4ft tank As for live rocks, look out for bros here who decom and put up the rocks for sale, that's the easiest way to get one lot of rocks, as opposed to going from farm to farm choosing rocks.

Wah bro, that's really fast haha. Can keep your 8G as a quarantine tank now. Why didn't you opt for a sump since you have the space in the cabinet now?

decomming current tank ..everything must go

On a serious note, I would like to add that this is also a reason why so many reefers include in their post "I reserve the right to deal with who I want" or something to that effect. Unpleasant drama like this may be entertaining (to me at least haha), but it is damaging to the trust that most of this community is built on. This is also why new reefers have to work so much harder to earn the trust that should have been given in the first place -

Orh okay, so you're saying it's not you who said it, but bro bigbird who said that "there is alot of LJL here"? Way to go man! The army has not only taught you well in the art of smoking, but taiji too Erm... I think the last two days has been a bad day to sell things on this forum. Seems that everyone is camping here with popcorn, hahaha! -
Yah, I noticed that some of my zoas were not doing well too, starting to show signs of stress, maybe my 20-30% water change per week was stressing them, now I'm taking it easy on the water change since my nutrient level is manageable.

Yup, if we are good script writers as you said in the previous episode, then we would have to thank you, the star of the show, for bringing our script to life -

Onizuka, wrong question la, how can legendz be unhappy? He is always smiling his way through these posts and claim that everyone is plotting against him :) Correct way to put it across is this: Daniel Tong, If you claim that there is nothing wrong with making a profit, and that it's all free trade, you should not have milked your status as an NSF and say that you are on a budget. If you paid the price that seller asked for, I think nobody will jump on you like this. You can buy it at $80, and sell it at $110 - if there is a willing buyer, that's free trade without taking advantage of anyone's kindness, no matter how much we frown upon the profiteering. I think after this episode, most of us will think twice before selling anything cheaper for NSF or students, no matter how poor they claim to be. And it's all thanks to you. And one more thing, if this forum is a bunch of LJL, you certainly fit right in. ... ... ... oops, forgot smiley: :) -

Yup, most of us have been giving him the benefit of the doubt. So much benefit that legendz sees it as an entitlement. PM is right, welfare no good, people will develop "crunch mentality" -

Eh, you know how some corals are worth more once they propagate and a new head grows, maybe this light set grew a new tube -

Oops If integrity and reputation comes with a price tag, this one says "$30" Nothing wrong with free trade, but profiting from other's kindness on the other hand.............. Fair trade is the new buzzword -
Yah hahaha, I actually like this one a lot. Wanted to get another falco's hawk, but my gf didn't like it, so bought the only other hawkfish at the farm. But I would give up this fish in a heartbeat for a flame hawk haha, I'm treading the limit on the number of fishes I can keep in such a small tank. Hahaha, ORD leh... obsessive reefing disorder. I have 3 pink turbo snails, 1 astrea snail, 3 bumble bee snails, 1 porcelain crab, 2 pom pom crabs, 2 cleaner shrimps and one marble star fish. Most of them contribute to the cleanliness in a way. I switch off the pump when feeding, so that the food doesn't get trapped in the IOS, and stay suspended in the water - gives the slower feeders like seahorses a fairer shot at the food. It also helps that my mandarin fish scavenges for food at the bottom.

Not yet! Hahaha, doing an experiment now, see how much nitrate is produced in a 2 week period with heavy feeding and without water change. As of yesterday, it was 5ppm before water change. Since NO3 and PO4 is not a problem for me, I won't be running the skimmer for the time being, I think dissolved organic substances can be beneficial for the corals.
-
Yup, for now, let your mechanical filter (filter wool sponge etc) clear the particles. Next time, try to avoid pouring the undissolved powder in.
-
I also changed water with salt mix yesterday, coral life salt, injured my back recently, cannot carry jerry can around haha. I usually mix it overnight with pump and avoid pouring the white stuff that settles at the bottom. My coral life salt is quite old already, very long never use, notorious for having the undissolved particles (calcium I think). As I was in a hurry yesterday, I mixed the salt, additives and vitamin C in the 1.5L bottles before pouring them into a bucket through a piece of filter wool, then I let the water in the bucket stir for a couple of hours before pouring into the tank. (by the way, interesting observation - the bottle with vitamin C mix is orange in colour, no wonder my tank doesn't look as clear as it should be haha)
-
Did you just change your water? Fresh salt mix, depending on the brand, could leave white suspended particles undissolved in the water. I made a mistake of pouring in freshly stirred salt water once, and the white stuff sting/burned 2 colony of zoas

Nice of you to drop by and comment hahaha. Your status always "busy" mah don't dare disturb you.
-
Quite common in a lot of LFS, just hard to spot them cos of the size hahaha. I've spotted them at coral farm, marine life, ah beng etc.
-
FTS after water change: I bought a cute yellow wrasse as well, for pest control, but it is hiding under the sand after being spooked by the water level dropping rapidly haha. Pics when he comes out again.
-
New addition to the tank, bought last friday, "Why you lookin' at me huh?": Lyretail Hawkfish (Cyprinocirrhites polyactus). Sits around all day staring at me like a hawkfish normally would, but swims in the water column when feeding, like an anthias. Even the blotchy anthias was fooled, and started to chase the intruding "anthias" off it's territory.
-
Did some tank maintenance last night, noticed that coraline algae is starting to form on my betta box and elsewhere in the tank Here's the contents of the betta box for those who asked: All frags accounted for, but too busy to pass to reefers who asked for them haha.

I replied you in your thread already, but anyway, the chaeto is kept clean by my starfish, snails and seahorse. I rinse it once a month in old water when I'm harvesting the chaeto Hahaha, yah the action reminds me of nemo's dad when he is flapping around nervously. Mine is an Ocellaris clownfish, so it's false perc(?). Don't really know the physical difference between true and false percs.
-
Yup, they come in varying concentrations depending on which part of the water distribution network you live in. Someone here (forgot who) told me his tap water nitrate measures less than 5ppm.

Bristle worms or fire worms are said to be beneficial, they do not hunt livestock, but will feed on scraps of food. The one in the picture looks like a bobbit worm. Bobbit worms and eunicid worms are the ones that will prey on your fish. Since they all look alike and are hard to catch, I usually remove all of them if spotted.
