Wah you must be their most regular customer hahaha, nice acquisition! Anyway, what kind of crab is Mr Crabby? -
Is it a marbled shark or marbled bamboo catshark? Looks like the latter to me, but maybe it's just the darkness of the pic. The grow to 2ft and 3ft plus respectively and both eat live fish, shrimps and crustaceans. Preferably kept in a dedicated large fish/predator 4ft tank.

Your regal's pop eye could have been caused by disease or parasites and was probably only a symptom of something larger. I used to have a brown tang that popped its eyes out of the socket right in front of me, damn gross. I thought that was what killed it, but found out that there was an ich outbreak that affected the rest of the livestock too

That's a very cute lyretail hawk, I just gave mine away recently. The bubble eye is known commonly as "pop eye", relatively harmless and not contagious if it is caused by trauma (this little bugger is damn kan chiong, will dart about when nervous or excited, maybe it scrapped its eyes against the rocks). Oh no.. The plate looks to be in pretty bad shape. What other corals or livestock you intend to keep?

Hi Merjo, I think your problem might not be ich, but an inproperly cycled tank! It is essential to "cycle" a tank for 4 weeks at least when you start an aquarium from scratch, if not your system will not be able to break down the ammonia and nitrite from the biological activities in your tank. Your clown fishes probably died from ammonia or nitrite poisoning, and the damsel probably got the ich from the stress of swimming in his own pee and poo You can google the terms "aquarium nitrogen cycle" to find out more about the cycling process. You can also do a search for "cycling" under the following sub forums: New to the Marine Aquaria Hobby Setup of a marine tank There should be a lot of topics on cycling cos it is something that pops up every couple of weeks. If you're still unsure, post your questions and we will try to help

Hahaha true, true... When I was buying by the carton, I looked all over my neighbourhood for recycling collection points, the nearest one was several blocks away and the bins were filled with all sorts of rubbish... It seems that the colourful recycling bins are for show only We should have a trash collection systems like the US, where home owners on an individual basis, separate their trash according to materials and the refuse company collect them accordingly. If the States, which is not exactly known for their environmental awareness can do it, why can't we? Sorry for the rant Anyway, I ended up salvaging whatever bottles I can by crafting them into funnels, fish traps, loose bit containers etc, and threw away the rest.

It's all hit and miss, they are individuals like you and me, if they don't like or don't want, there is nothing you can do to force them too What kind of clown you have by the way? Some reefer mentioned to me that one breed of clowns don't really host, I don't remember which

Probably ich, but damsels are very hardy, it will probably survive it effortlessly. What you should worry about is the other fishes, monitor them and see if they have similar symptoms like white spots or skin lacerations, and don't add any new fish for the time being. How old is your system and how many fishes are inside?

Wow, very nice and bright! Is this the set that skinbone was selling last week? Can't wait to mod my lights too!

Chill bros... It seems to be a simple misunderstanding on both party's side. I also understood the pink/white bubble to mean the one in front when I read the thread this morning, cos the one at the back is obviously green in colour. I'm sure Jeremy means no malice, nor did he seek to mislead anyone. He is a generous and friendly reefer from whom I have benefited a couple of times with good deals and FOC giveaway. Tagie, I also know how tulan it can feel to go all the way up to Sembawang then find out that it is not something you wanted. On your part, you could have asked him thru the phone to confirm what you are getting... a simple call or sms can save you the trouble. I'm not judging anyone here, nobody is right or wrong — just a failure in communication for which it is a bit not nice to call someone a big asshole for it

That's chaetomorpha, or chaeto in short, a kind of algae. I put it in a basket so that it can remove nutrients like nitrate (NO3) and phosphate (PO4) through photosynthesis (needs light). Wikipedia: Chaetomorpha

Yup, can do that.

Iwarna's water fills about one medium sized bucket... 10 to 12 litres.
