  1. Your atlantic blue tang is very nice! Just got your new camera? That's a large update after such a long period of silence in this thread hahaha.
  2. Very nice anemone . I've got one, but it was disturbed by the porcelain crab hosting on it. It went into a cave and closed up for weeks. Just removed the crab last night Your coralline algae growth is very healthy and dense too, any secrets?
  3. And finally, new purchase last night from Reborn "Hi I'm a marble sea star and I enjoy extreme sports like clinging to the wavemaker! TTYL! Woohoo!" In the time the new sea star has taken to circle the tank one round and climb onto the wavemaker, the older sea star moved just 1cm LOL! "Just chilling, growing my limb out yo... BRB"
  4. Flame hawk has been behaving weirdly last two days, doing things like swimming up and down repeatedly on one side of the tank near the surface. Colour around the belly seems to have faded too... Could it be stress? Yellow wrasse has tattered fins, but all fishes mind their own business. The tank is very peaceful, nobody is targeting him in the tank. Could it be that he doesn't have a sand bed to sleep, and his exposed butt got chewed off by pests? Is the coraline algae receding? Seems to have peeled back with white edges... Maybe the light is too strong?
  5. Just chilling out... Anyone knows how to get rid of the brown algae growing on the seahorse? Peekaboo, I see you!
  6. Hi starfish, as repeated from our PM, thanks for the gracious reply. It's actions like this that show that you are not here for profit or to stir trouble. Once again, so sorry to kill the buzz
  7. Phweeeeet~ Nice DIY project, thanks for sharing!
  8. Before this turns into a marketplace for banned exotic pets, do note that as mentioned earlier, hedgehogs are illegal to sell or keep in Singapore. I may be wrong on this, but the only relevant legislation i found covering this is the Endangered Species (Import and Export) Act Cap 92A [ESA] For the list of animals that are permitted in Singapore, refer to the following link: http://www.ava.gov.sg/AnimalsPetSector/Sal...dex.htm#animals Sorry to TS, I don't want to be a wetblanket, I'm actually pretty neutral to this but it seems that more people are chipping in their 2 cents and turning this marine market place into a black market. Also, for those of you who find the hedgehog cute and for some reason die die want to buy it now, I am not one to take the moral high ground and judge or impose my believes on others, but please practice responsible pet ownership by reading up and researching on its care. I personally find it damn cute and don't mind keeping one, but I was brought up to respect the law, no matter how stupid it may be
  9. LOL!!! Sadly this dominant female behaviour is observed in human beings too LOL, no la they are all stunned and swirling in a plastic bag, no choice but to pair up.
  10. Maciam same stock for the last few months right? Everytime I go, it looks the same to me.. LOL
  11. Can't really see the "cotton wool" from the pic, but I think normal procedure for treating fungal infection will do (medication, QT, vitamin enriched food). This one I got no experience cos (choi, touch wood!) my fish never kena parasite or fungus before. For the last few months, I have been mixing vitamin C into my fish food cos I heard that it cleanses their liver and internal organs, improving their immune system, esp for new fishes.
  12. Probably late at night when you are not looking LOL. The black spots are harmless, and almost certainly caused by corals.
  13. Lets not start a fight with name calling shall we?
  14. Hahahaha, your influence is passing on from one reefer to another. Quick better update your own tank thread!
  15. I thought they are solitary creatures? If getting a pair, it's better to buy a big, like really BIG, cage. Edit: From Hedgehog Central:
  16. It is actually better to get a slightly overpowered chiller, so that the bigger cooling reservoir will chill the water faster and longer, resulting in longer intervals between kick in, save electricity. If you get a chiller that is "just nice", it may run constantly or more frequently, and even if the wattage of the chiller is lower, that may cost more in terms of consumption. I'm using a 1/10 chiller for my tank which is about 75 litres of water after taking into account the rocks and sand. It takes 50 minutes to pull down 2 degrees, then another 90 minutes to 2 hours before kick in again. This is cheaper for me than running a 1/15 or 1/20 chiller constantly. End of the day the efficiency of a chiller is a co-relation between water volume, flow rate, ambient temperature and your chiller power. I think it's safe to say no two set ups will have the exact same specs and requirement.
  17. Yah man, I got poisoned by raydiactive's FTS too hahaha.
  18. Starfish, relax... don't get so defensive towards garyjg. He was asking out of genuine concern. (Anyway I'm seriously curious about the price too, been shopping around for a small pet recently, although nothing as exotic as your hedgehog. You can PM me the price to give me an idea if you don't mind )
  19. YES!!! Hahaha, I had to empty the entire contents of the tank, put them into multiple containers, run pumps and airstone... then scoop out the white sand completely from the tank (which may sound easy, but it's a real bitch). After that, just as I think that I can throw in the black sand, and live rocks, I realise that all the activities has turned the remaining 20% of water muddy, then got fed up, decided to just do a 100% complete water change. That means I had to re-acclimatise all my live stock.
  20. Your clowns finally hosted on something huh? You were complaining for the longest time about your clowns being dumb and not hosting anything LOL! Sorry to go off topic on your thread VC
  21. Yup, the black patches are caused by the sting from coral tentacles when they host on it, once they build up the antibodies to neutralise the stings they will recover from it. Sorry lah, I'm not a biologist, so I'm explaining in my own layman's terms.
  22. Tang will be too big for the nanocube, how about lawnmower/algae blenny? Very hard working fish, I bought a 3 inch specimen and it cleared up all the hair algae in a 4 ft tank within 1 week. Your LED lights are really clear and bright, I've commissioned Sherman to mod my lights too, same specs as yours but no moonlights, I hope it looks as nice . Any idea how much power your LED fixture consumes?
  23. Considering that a 1/10 chiller is what most people would use for nano and 2ft tanks, I would say either chillers would be overworked for a 3x2x2. Rather than to use the canister filter to feed the chiller, why not use a dedicated pump for the chiller so you won't be restricted by the flow rate?
  24. I guess it probably means corals and invertebrates, which are sensitive to copper based medication.
