It's not normal, as long as your chiller thermostat doesn't reach the displayed temperature you set, it won't stop running! 6 hours continuous operation so far? You've got to get it repaired or get an external thermostat. But first do check your ventilation, follow the instructions on minimum clearance space around the chiller so that it won't overheat.
-
Is the positioning of the chiller well ventilated? If not, it could be overheating of the chiller casing which screw up the thermometer inside. Another problem could be a faulty thermostat. The thermostat for Hailea is known to be quite screwy.

Aiyoh, you all make it sound so sinister LOL. I think the 3 points that Jacky wrote are all sound and fair, especially point 2 which is group purchases to frag and share. The primary objective of this group (in my opinion) is to foster friendship and have a small group of reefers who can rely on each other to obtain corals. That should be the motivation behind this group: bonding of reefers with a common goal and helping each other out. I think it is safe to say that this is not a crack squad of gem hunters who will raid LFS and sweep everything on shipment day. If you look at the list of names so far, they are all upstanding members, new and old. This is also good way to avoid drama and bad deals normally associated with dealing with strangers (let's face it, when you sell stuff on pasar malam, up to 70% of the people who respond are non-active members, many with only a few posts). I also feel that all matters should be either conducted through PM or the gallery in this forum, or in our private capacity through SMS or emails. It doesn't reflect very nicely on us if we set up a blog site to share pics and trade from there. It may appear to others that we are subverting the buy/sell forum on SRC by coming out with an elite or exclusive alternative, even though that's not the case. Rather than unknowingly boycotting the SRC pasar malam, I think an arrangement like this is complimentary to it. It is no different from stating in a sale thread "I reserve the right to sell to whomever I choose" or doing a favour to your friends by letting them have first pickings before posting for sale. Both aforementioned measures serve the same purpose, to avoid pilots and know that what you are selling is in good hands BTW, Jacky, you've got my number, count me in. Thanks for doing all the sai kang and leg work

It's a process known as Error Level Analysis (ELA). Basically when you first save a jpeg, the compression is uniform. When you manipulate the jpeg later with a photo editor like photoshop and resave it, the parts that are touched up will have a different level of compression (or something like that la), this process forces out the parts that don't match. Interested can PM me for explanation, don't wanna derail the thread

CSI: Singapore According to my l337 hacker, the red one is too good to be true, but the orange one.... OMG!
-
Haha joking about the hole la, but really, there is no reason for your hydor flo to shrink, cos it is not in the nature of the plastic used. I just cut a big slot for the hose and wires haha, the hinges is not enough for the hose size, again, will restrict the flow.
-
<zen> It is not the hydor flow that shrank, it is the hole that got bigger.</zen>
-
Eh I dunno, anyhow whack cos qiang said 6 or 8hf hahaha. Yah should be 10hf, mine is the 2700l/h one. For the hydor flo, it doesnt fit nicely, you have to use plumbing tape to tighten the grip.
-
Will you be feeding it to a chiller and what is your chiller placement? Are you using hydor flo deflector? All this will result in head loss. My chiller is on the floor, the hose length up and down is about 2 metres. 1000l/h after head loss seems very weak imo.
-
Yup, so far for this flow rate, Rio is the only one I found which fits.
-
I have used both actually, and I prefer 8HF. The chiller performs better at that rate for me. With the 6HF, it kicks in more frequently. If you consider the head loss after going through the hoses, and not to mention, the hydor flo which cuts the flow by up to 40%, it is just about right.
-
Flow rate is just nice after factoring in head loss imo. Mine is one pump feed all haha.
-
Jacky, you cannot say I kena influence... We all start out as kids using crude words or baby language for body parts You mean youths today talk like that in real life? I must get out more haha. I'm using Rio 2700l/h pump. You still using the JBJ stock one?

Looks like red coraline, and since you mention it's hard, it's not slime algae.
-
OMG I took this comment out of context, esp after AhSiang's idea of creating a deep valley scape like cleavage. LOL! (Is neh neh the plural of neh? ) Nice and colourful updates as usual jacky

Yellow highlights show the manipulated parts

The green one has been photoshopped, but the golden one is legit Edit to clarify: The lemondrop appears legit, minimal photoshop probably to brighten certain parts if any. The green one screams photoshop all over it, but there are different motivations for why people might do that. Maybe the camera didn't do the anemone justice and they were trying to match the pic to what the naked eye sees.

Wow, I used to own the pink bubble, you got it from kikobananas right? LOL I thought it looked familiar! When I first bought it, it was fist sized and bleached white. Up for your sale bro!
-
Wow that's a beautiful nano tank! It's very cool that you've set up a marine tank in the office, it does wonders for staff morale. Mitlancer: Actually when the coraline algae spreads to the background, it will be quite nice, blends the live rocks seamlessly into the back.
-
Scandalous!
-
Wow sharp eyes.. I had to CSI the hell out of it to find out which were the touched up parts. The red part, and the mouth were digitally added or enhanced (the yellow highlighted parts in the pic below):

Hanor hanor... The chief is suppose to shoot arrow according to the pic above, not get arrowed hahaha. Here's how I think it can play out: 1. We exchange contacts via PM. If any individual spots a nice rock of corals but don't want to keep the whole thing, he knows that there is a group of reefers just a call away, one of which would hopefully be more than happy to share. 2. LFS outing where we share our purchases and frag on the spot. 3. Exchange of frags we already own, can be done by maintaining a thread where we post pics and trade to other reefers. Edit: Woot! I'm in the 1000 post club!
-
LOL! No intention to derail this thread... but does our indian chief know that he kena arrow to coordinate this for real? I mean, he is aware of the frag sharing, but does he know how big his indian tribe has become? I think it may be better to discuss how we want this to work before poor jacky starts to manage hundreds of members. "Nah, one polyp for me, one polyp for you, one for..."
