  1. You must at least grow it into a large colony before you can consider selling, to make it worth your while hahaha. I also bought 2 frags, but at least I knew what I was in for lol. Don't worry la, small frags grow faster than colonies, you will recover your money's worth soon!
  2. At least you can let them grow out into colonies and get your money's worth hahaha. Make lemonade!
  3. Wow that is a huge leap in size bro. Congrats on your upgrade, should be an awesome looking tank once it is stocked up
  4. +1!!! Acrylic is easy to drill too, so adding a sump and cabinet should be no problem.
  5. Yup Jacky you are right about the noise reduction. Only thing is that the silence is canceled out by my use of filter sock, so there's no sponge or wool to reduce the sound when it hits the sump haha. Siang, Dr Evil dropped by my place last night with the BM skimmer... we opened up the carton together and admired the skimmer until we found the body cracked from shipping . I'll get a replacement in a few days. And yah, hahaha my scape always very skinny with minimal rocks one...
  6. The slots are to both raise the water level in the overflow, and to act as an "underflow" of sorts. That way, water is not just drawn off the surface of the water, it is pulled from 3 different levels of the tank. Hahaha don't listen to Ray la, the pictures are a combination of white balance being slightly off; the cloudy water refracting light; and abundant coralline that shows up as purple blotches in the shallow depth of field. As for the filter socks, I am using it for a very practical reason.... My bear mitts are too large to fit into the first compartment of the sump to add or remove filter wool. I'm using a 100 micron filter, I think there shouldn't be a problem as I switch off the pumps when I filter feed. Hahahaha, maybe you didn't know cos you are so used to large tanks that nano tanks are too small for your eyes to notice lol.
  7. That's not a bad thing if you are playing mahjong..... you will be the only sober one!!!
  8. No la bro, parodying you mah... So I can tease another "Tǎo yàn!" out of you lol.
  9. Hahaha yah maybe Jacky is acting bashful... "Tǎo yàn ni!" *throws hankerchief*
  10. I think it matches the latest aluminum line of products better leh... The current iPhone design looks dated, like the old iBooks with shiny plastic housing, out of place compared to iPad, iMac and Macbook Pro.
  11. You are looking at Apple's next iPhone . It was found lost in a bar in Redwood City, camouflaged to look like an iPhone 3GS. We got it. We disassembled it. It's the real thing, and here are all the details. While Apple may tinker with the final packaging and design of the final phone, it's clear that the features in this lost-and-found next-generation iPhone are drastically new and drastically different from what came before. Here's the detailed list of our findings...
  12. Hahahaha don't play semantics with me la, you know I mean that all your tanks have been an inspiration. Yes! I was at Popeyes with my gf last Friday! Paiseh didn't spot you, quite crowded and too much happening. Could've called or sms me mah hahaha.
  13. Oi don't anyhow quote me hor! Hahaha! You are just being humble, your nano incarnations from the first 1ft until this one has been an inspiration to me.
  14. Lemon, so where do I send you the receipt to claim back my dinner from you?
  15. Hahaha no more changes bro, very satisfied with this tank. I think I can get several good years of viewing pleasure out of this. Yup black sand, a mix of Iwarna volcanic live sand, Nature's ocean and Caribsea... Note to others who want to use different sand: The texture of the sand is completely different and is not as nice as using just one single type Anyway you still wanna rub it in ah regarding the cabinet hahahaha. It is nice on its own la, but I must first satisfy the wants of the family... Gf's mom wants a matching chiller cabinet now, says she wants to put flower vase on it Thanks! Wow you are really a honorary resident at Iwarna sia... How did you know that's mine? Woohoo! It's here! Thanks! Looking forward to it!
  16. Thanks kanegan! Anyway come to think of it yah, I only had the 24G for 1 year plus hahaha. Prior to that I was playing around with my office 4ft and 12G tank before getting onto SRC to find out why there's so much algae growth
  17. Lazy to switch white balance when shooting inside and outside the tank lah! Hahaha, and I was drunk while snapping pics too
  18. Thanks for the compliments, but I don't deserve it cos I only bought it, not design it hahaha, the hard work goes to Dr Evil and the worker from Iwarna who delivered and help set it up. Haha the rock scape is not final, I just threw everything in and don't want to stress the corals further by moving the rocks around. Will have a rescape after everything settles down.
  19. The tank arrived last Saturday! First pics of DElighting's pet project below: Ignore the rock scaping, I just threw everything in and stacked up, too tired to do anything else till next week :/ My thoughts on the tank? A lot of thought went into the design and planning of it and Dr Evil was very kind to accommodate my many requests like door hinge of the opposite side of the cabinet, and a wooden laminate (long story, my gf's mom asked for it, but end up not liking it and said I should have gone with black or white - which was what I wanted originally! ). It's no secret that the look is heavily influenced by the Elos Mini, but there are a lot of minor improvements to the tank design, mainly the sump and overflow box, which is made from laser-cut acrylic. The size and volume is slightly larger too, at 18x18x18" compared to Elos' 17x17x16" (20 gallon). But of course the best part of all is the 3 sided crystal glass display (compared to Elos's 1 side)! Frankly, I had my doubts at first that the key Elos features like the ultra thin silicon on the braceless tank and the overflow box can be successfully replicated and would be happy to settle for thicker silicon to compensate for the braceless design, and maybe a simple overflow box. but when the tank arrived, I was totally blown away! The workmanship is ultra clean and precise, comparable or even better than Elos, and the cabinet is solid and sturdy. Long story short, I'm a happy camper. Couldn't be more satisfied by the tank. WIll post more pics once the corals "un-stress" themselves as I did a direct transfer of live rocks and filter media from the old tank to the new one. Oh yah my only complaint is that Dr Evil promised to give me a shocking pink background, but I only got black Omaya sticker hahahaha My old tank thread here: JBJ 24G Nanocube
  20. How long have you had the fish and where was it bought from?
  21. The FOC one is confirm smaller than 2mm, quite fine. PM me I can pass you some later, I will be home, on half day today.
  22. Anybody getting black live sand, DON'T buy, get from me!!! LOL! I already bought 1 packet of caribsea black aragonite will only be using half, and have another 2 inch layer of nature's ocean black aragonite with iwarna's volcanic black sand mix. For the brand new pack will appreciate if anyone is willing to share, for the existing sand in the tank, FOC mafia style.
  23. Maybe it is one of those mind tricks like telling you that you cannot lick your own elbow, then you really go and try it and look stupid... Then AhSiang is the one having the last laugh as we all look stupid in front of the computer
  24. Please tell me you did that in the office in front of your desk LOL.
