  3. Hi bro, great looking tank! Peace is right about the clams being deprived of light. We have the same tank and LED fixture, and I place my clam about 1/3 from the bottom and even so, it could do with more light. Do stock up slowly to prolong your tank set-up pleasure, and to let the system mature.
  4. Haha bro, don't beat yourself up over the replaced red tube la. The colours from your latest FTS is just as attractive, and I'm sure it looks more natural up close as well (although the yummy red saturation looks good in photos) Looks like money well spent
  5. Hi bro, open brain, or trachyphyllia, is relatively easy to keep and not very light demanding. They can be put on the sand bed or even partially shaded areas with low to moderate flow. The one time I had an open brain die, it was exposed to direct blasting from the wavemaker on top of my cleaner shrimps digging it open for digested food In addition to good water parameters, feed it fleshy food like bits of market prawn or mysis once a week (usually rows of feeding tentacles will extend near night time), and it will be enough to keep it happy.
  6. Hi bro, assuming your tank is already properly cycled, periodical dosing of bacteria is to boost the population of your bacteria so that your system can break down waste more efficiently. Similarly, when a new tank is set up, dosing of bacteria can speed up the process. It is not an absolute necessity, but is good to do it once in a while. Think of it as drinking Yakult or Vitagen... aids digestion
  7. Aiyoh you all never think like real men... Only ask to borrow cars? 1. Is she a young lady? 2. If not, does she have any daughters? 3. ??? 4. ♫ Bowchickabowwow ♫ Hahahaha... Joking, bro. Glad you reunited the dog with the owner, that dog is damn adorable!
  8. It is shallow enough to use chopsticks! LOL. Very nice pics btw, forgot to mention earlier. I'm surprised the yumas hold up so well in the IQ3.
  9. Hey Fabian, thanks for sharing your tank pics! You are right, the lighting is insufficient for the LPS (frogspawn and bubble), they look stressed and bleached.
  10. finally get to see your office project, nice collection of frags! Does the Tunze pump fit well in the compartment and is there less heat with this upgrade?
  11. Wow the IQ3 club is growing from strength to strength Personally, my experience with the pico tank has been a pain in the posterior, I was convinced that it is impossible to do anything nice with it (temperature, high evaporation, lighting...). Maybe you could show us more pics of the set up? I'm sure there will be heightened interest in the IQ3 among reefers now that so many of you have come out of hiding to show your tank
  12. Nice FTS bro! Any reason why you changed the configuration of the lights?
  13. He who drums the loudest has the most to hide.

  14. Nice pics so far! Would be awesome if you could share the details of your tank and equipment
  15. Sorry to hear about cookie Adopted strays in Singapore are the sweetest and most loyal dogs you can ever own. You will still miss him, but it won't hurt as much in the weeks to come
  16. MURPHY STRUCK... The green and purple tipped anemone from Lemon started moving around on Friday night, and I just ignored it, thinking it will stop once it is happy. On Saturday, before leaving for a wedding lunch, the BTA was nowhere to be found. On a hunch, I checked the overflow box and there it was, hanging for its dear life. Placed it in the sump as I was in a hurry. As a precaution, I pointed the inlet of the return pump towards the glass wall with a 1mm gap to prevent the anemone from getting sucked in. You guessed it. I returned home to a cloudy tank with the BTA nowhere to be found I immediately did a water change, replaced the activated carbon, and dosed half a vial of biodigest. All this while, I left the used filter sock on the bathroom floor, waiting to be soaked in bleach. When I was ready to clean up, I inverted the filter sock to find 2 large chunks of the anemone inside! This probably saved my tank from a complete crash, I'd hate to imagine what kind of damage my MP10 would do to it. In the end, everything went better than expected. I cheated Murphy's Law twice in a day. To make the story even sweeter, I tossed the 2 BTA remains in a betta box to try my luck (there was absolutely no mouth left) and they survived! They are healing well now

  18. I think a TDS of 6 to 12 is tolerable if not, good. If I recall correctly, you're from Brunei right? Your air should be cleaner there, so I think the rainwater collected should be cleaner too lol.
  19. You kids and your damn "FAIL" this and "FAIL" that.... Back in 'my days', LOL was a novelty... and we had the ROFLCOPTER! I still don't know why I was so amused back then haha..
  20. Nice FTS (or is it FTV? lol)! Didn't know that iPhone videos can be so sharp. I'm using the old 3G, camera is not one of its virtues haha.
  21. 2 days without football. Time to sleep in and be productive at work.

  22. Haha there is no better endorsement for the safety and non-toxicity of superglue than actual use on the human body
  23. Yup, it is safe to use. Superglue can even be used to close up cuts in your skin
  24. Hi bro, dHK is the measurement of alkalinity caused by the presence of carbonate and bicarbonate. There is no discernible difference between dKH and alkalinity for reefers playing with reef chemistry on a hobby level (correct me if I'm wrong). The test kits sold out there for dKH and ALK is actually testing for alkalinity. Rather than to develop a separate hobby test kit for dKH to measure the level of carbonate and bicarbonate, it is widely accepted that the measurement of alkalinity equivalent is enough. Anyway kksg, you posted the same topic just 2 weeks back and I already replied with a series of articles. Maybe you didn't see it, but I think it's better to continue the same thread in future rather than to start a new one for the exact same topic.
