bro, sorry, i oso buay tahan c u everyday pray. oredi give u all the info i hv available oredi but still cannot help u. what to do? pray wif u. -
hi bro, sorry i m overseas at the moment. care to tell me what hv this gotta do wif $8888? thx btw, i wun be surprised as some species of freshwater fish hv been known to survive in SW........ think platys r one of them. moreover, BPs r genetically altered.

well, to each has its own. at least to me, i swear by my limited experience and whatever limited literature i hv come across. at the end of the day, it still boils down to urself. for better prepared salt mixes, it is more than likely that u will find a chemical analysis of individual major elements on the packaging. as for NSW, unless u wanna spend tons of analytical kits, i'll hv nothing to say. furthermore, i think NSW is more likely to contain parasites such as ich than when making comparison to synthetic salt mixes. as i hv oredi put it, it all depends on ur choice.
-
yes NSW might contain favorable trace elements or components not found in prepared salt mix, but along wif it comes unknown pollutants and contaminants of water as well. u dun hv a chemical analysis of what is contained it the NSW do u? whereas for salt mix, u might hv that. in terms of monies savings, IMHO, i believe it is more or less between the 2 if u take into account all the existing conditions of transportation, labour, etc. not flaming, juz my point of view.

WTS 0.5hp Pacific Coo Chiller
lightningstrike replied to mUAr_cHEe's topic in Sell off/Pasar Malam Shop
it is suppose to be copper-epoxy. -
that is the risk u'll hv to take. most reefers hv had docile ones, but it is after all still an angel.

please disregard the above quoted as i find it very misleading. the above rated is only the compressor motor power itself only......... ok ok, to make things less confusing, this is for the transparency for all to see. here goes: Compressor Motor Size = 275W where 1W = 0.001340483 H.P (Electric) therefore, 275W = 0.3686327 H.P (Electric) which is abt 1/3 H.P (Electric) This is often mistaken as the HP of the compressor at max load, which is not. It is only the compressor rating for its motor size. the abovementioned H.P. is by no means the same or related with the latter, which i m gonna explain now. the true H.P that we should be looking out for should be the power consumption of the compressor at max load. in this case, should be 445W at 5 degrees celsius. 12,000 BTU/HR = 1 ton of refrigeration = so called 1 H.P where 1W = 0.0002843451 ton of refrigeration 445W = 1560 BTU/HR = 0.1265336 ton of refrigeration = 1/8 H.P therefore, the power consumption at max load of 5 degrees celsius refrigerant in the compressor should be 1/8 H.P juz for info, ASHRAE is American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers. CECOMAF is EUROVENT/CECOMAF. European Committee of Air Handling and Refrigeration Equipment Manufacturers. The reason why there r 2 capacities given here is becoz of a diff in standards, where liquid temp for CECOMAF is at 55 degrees celsius and ASHRAE is at 32 degrees celsius. if u take the capacity of the respective standards and divide it by the power consumption, it will give u the C.O.P, coefficient of performance. e.g. capacity (ASHRAE) at max load = 996W COP at max load = 996/445 = 2.17 W/W hopefully, my calculations r correct this time round.

hi bro, u r right. for coral growth wise, 6.5kk (high in PAR) will be the most appropriate follow up by 10kk. but for coloring up of sps, suggested color temp is to go for 20kk (Low in PAR). having 14kk or 12.5kk is sort of like having the best of both worlds. juz me 2 cents

upz for u. definitely a worthy skimmer.

zooxanthallae provide their hosts wif oxygen and some organic compounds they produce thru photosynthesis. when stressed, many corals hv been observed to expel their zooxanthallae. often, the corals will bleach but IME, does not necessarlily means it will die. some of my previous lps hv recovered from bleaching b4. amybe u wld like to monitor ur bubble placement, tank temp, lighting conditions, water para, etc.

lightningstrike replied to DeepBlue's topic in Product Reviews
is there something wrong wif the impellor of the pump? as in do u observe that the shaft alignment is crooked, etc? -
is ur fan secured, looks like it might drop into the tank any time. safety first my friend.
-
i cant find the compressor no. 6980 in www.danfoss.com. it is a hermetic comp isnt it?
-
robin, think we 2 r 2 concerned abt sps liaoz........ we neber say like, there is a flame angel in ur tank might take a liking to ur corals, sea fan placement oso 2 near powerhead, etc........
-
any concrete proof to back this claim?
-
here's one suggestion, but i hv never use it b4, maybe u wld like to ask for reviews. http://www.sgreefclub.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=19591 alternatively, u can try marine depot. flubberina13 is doing a bulk order from there. http://www.marinedepot.com/aquarium_powerh...dex.asp?CartId= note the prices r in USD and the voltage is 110V
-
thought ur tank is 4 x 2 x 2? r u saying that the height from sump to top of tank is 1.6m? budget? internal or external? wattage concern?
-
u might wanna reconsider the placement of ur sps, looks like ur powerhead is directed at it.
