  3. hi virus, i m oredi in the process of setting up a ref for my tank. using a 1ft x 1ft x 1ft tank as a ref wif 5" sandbed. thought of ur idea of 2 pumps b4........ indeed it is dangerous. so in the end, i did a siphon pipe for downwards gravity flow into my ref and a pump in my ref to pump up the water. the main problem i encountered was that the water coming down does not synchronizes wif the water that is being pumped up. taking into consideration that i m using a variable submersible pump and hving a check valve installed on the siphon pipe to limit the flow. there is no way u can synchronize both the flowrate till it is the same. if u cant synchronize them, this means either one of ur tank or ref will flood. then i thought of another idea which was to limit the downward flow by using a float valve on the ref via siphon pipe. but this time round, after installing everything, i discovered that everything works, except for the fact that the downward flow is so much slower now that the flowrate of the water from the pump going up to the tank is so much faster than the flowrate coming down to the ref. being working on this for the past 2 nites oredi..... anyone can help me???? maybe my thread on refugium can help u understand my problem better.........
  4. no matter how much u hv lost to evaporation, salt still remains in the tank.
  5. IMO, if u cannot c the corpses, then juz leave them to decompose....... more likely to be eaten up by other LS. if not, then get more narssarius snails to eat them up as these guys r scavengers.
  6. actually, african clowns quite common oso. dun need to go reborn and buy oso can. think most places oso got sell.
  7. if octozin not useful means ur tank ich problem very serious oredi. then u gotta use cuprazin. but this is no longer reef safe.
  8. anyone out there can help. cuz i'll be going to buy the pipings later. thks.
  9. think i juz wait for fellow reefers to sell off theirs. anyway, i went down to ML over the weekend. the rics there oso not alot left and the condition oso not say very very good. i mean that's onli my opinion hor.

  11. Maxima's house: nassarius snails going at $10 per dozen. 09/01 to 11/01. Reborn: lots of fox corals, sea fans, zoos, giant white tubeworms, etc. LS includes fire shrimps, cleaner wrasses, damsels, lions, etc. not a lot of fishes though. ML: some rics, scarlet legged hermit crabs, not a lot of fishes though.
  12. no sightings of cleaner shrimp, but reborn do hv fire shrimps available.

  18. better to intro all the chromis all at one go. that is if u hv good water parameters and a good tank size.
