  1. although i m no chemist, but IMHO, as a safety measure, better do a immediate water change of 20 to 25% and dump in some GAC.
  2. hmmmmm...... can try reduce feeding and increase current.
  3. even if u get the exact 2 skimmers with same pumps, u will not get exactly same skimmates. no 2 product r exactly the same 100% so to speak. where u place ur skimmer place a part too.
  4. very true and it is logical, not strange. regarding the finer details as in why, pls do a search. i 2 lazy to type out everything.
  5. yes, think dradttg must be referring to petmart. p.s. dun need to censor lar....... petmart is a SRC sponsor/advertiser.
  6. intermediate solution will be to siphon it. but this is not a long term solution.
  7. here. http://www.sgreefclub.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=14244
  8. i m using. need time to mature. must tune patiently. but it works.
  9. AT, u can still c cherries in the wild. for me, i can only c cherries on SRC. for "live" cherries, i hv to travel 2 hrs to Ueno or 3hrs to shinjuku to hv a look at them. can't wait to lay my hands on sps when i return........ errrrr........ when u buy sps, can i get some from u too in 5 mths time if they r ready for fragging??? Great for austin to catch up wif harry 2.
  10. last heard of is that it was taken over by some new owners right?
  11. need to know the root first. what test kit u r using to test NO3?
  12. if sps can encrust on LRs, i dun c why they cun on ur overflow box.
  13. hi babyfishy, i hv some contributions to make regarding the buying of LS. after making sure that ur tank is properly cycled wif the use of reliable testkits, addition of hardier LS will be a good choice. a good start might be clowns. damsels IMHO, r quite fierce and u might regret the addition later. esp with a 2 ft tank. there isn't much room for other LS to play wif. read up on the compatibility of individual LS that u intend to keep. more info can be found in liveaquaria.com. there's a compatibility chart for LS there too. tangs for ur tank size is strongly discouraged too. juz me 2 cents. hope it helps.
  14. it's great to hv u here in SRC. a massive project u hv there i must say.
  15. upz for u, Joshuas, pity that i m in jepun now, else i would hv oredi grabbed the blue table acro i hv been aimming for...... for potential buyers, i would say Joshuas has been taking great TLC of his sps....... i m quite sure his acros conditions r good.
  16. hi freddychin, i hv heard pretty good reviews on dernerlle CO2 regulator b4......... of coz if u r hardcore, then u might wanna go for lab grade precision. btw, i noticed u r using a korallin C1501 for ur 5 ft reef. i seriously doubt IMHO that it is going to be enuff if u r going for sps. for my tank size (see signature) , my C1501 is oredi barely enuff to run my tank (b4 it crashed) for 60% sps dominated reef. i m using a milwaukee dual gauge regulator wif solenoid valve and bubble count is at abt 2 bubbles/ sec. juz me 2 cents.
  17. kalkweisser do raise calcium to a certain extent if dripped regularly and religiously and if u dun hv too many calcium demanding corals like sps or clams. as for brand of calcium additives, seachem will do juz fine at a affordable price too.
  18. i m still using my ehiem 2026 cannister, it supplies water into my chiller. nothing is in the filter except for polyfilter. i clean only once a month or so.
  19. not necessarily. there r other contributing factors as well. e.g. high nitrate, long photo period, etc. but i would recommend u to get a more reknown test kit like salifert to test ur PO4. a small trace of PO4 of 0.3ppm is enuff to do damage.
  20. well, it really depends on urself, for my 3.5 footer, i m using anywhere btw 40 to 50kg.
  21. so will me!!! when the return of the crazy reefer to singapore in december.
