hi, use P.E (Polyethylene) foam or P.U (Polyurethane) foam as they r known of industrially. juz make sure one side of the foam is sticky (like double sided tape) so that u can wrap ur hose or whatever u wanna insulate.

feeding cyclopeeze will be good. btw, most anthias r schooling fishes....... will do better if u get at least 4 or more. but this is dependent on how well ur tank will be able to to accomodate the high bio load due to the frequent feeding that these fishes need. If u r not confident that ur tank can take the high bio load, then i'll advise u not to rear them as they will die in no time.

did u wash the remora wif warm water as advised? that will reduce the break in period. normally, shld take a few days to break in. IMHO, best is to follow the rec flowrate. go get urself a maxijet 1200 or a sicce idra.

that's why u hv to get the appropriate thickness of glass for ur tank. i go wif sharkbait. start another thread by posting ur pics, water parameters and equipments. it will do u no harm but good.

depending on how big is ur tank, how much ur overflow can handle, preference of strong flow in ur main tank, teeing off from ur return can be an option worth considering. as for using the pump to drive both chiller and FR oso can but again u gotta c what flowrate is best recommended for ur chiller.

ur dsb not deep enuff. at least 4" is needed if u ask me. now it is like in the middle of nowhere and result in incomplete denitrification which is a scenario u dun wanna be in.

hmmmm....... u hv a point. but i believe the suggested solutions will help to a certain extent. of coz my impression was that the sump is not over stuff wif LRs.

why not make use of the SRC search engine b4 asking further, as some of the topics hv been covered many times b4.

suggested solutions i can think of so far for this problem. solution 1: cost wise, impractical. but it will work anyway. increase water movement within sump via closed loop or powerheads. solution 2: filter floss to capture detritus b4 it can reach the compartment for LRs in the sump.

haizzzz..... those were the "Ric-diculous" days where ricordeas can be found in colonies on LRs at ML and reefers were trading them in SRC wif abundance. subsequently, due to CITES issues wif the LRs which came along wif the rics, there was no stock in spore for a period of time. Rics hv been known to be scarce in the reefkeeping market over here ever since. ML still brings in once in a while though (actually, i can only remember one instance), but no longer in colonies, juz loose frags. price wise, i dunno whether it differs from last time or not, coz not one of my rics r directly from ML. bought most of them off fella reefers. from time to time, reefers still do trade their rics over in pasar malam....... but oso very seldom oredi. I believe Weileong was the last to do a trade off for rics. Pic of my rics b4 the tank went kaput.

gauge thru the clear plastic. can see a little tinge of rowa in dancing motion can liaoz. 2 high a flowrate will cause grinding.
