  1. they r know to be stubborn and picky eaters. try enticing them to eat wif cyclopeeze.
  2. not necessarily, it depends on what kind of corals u keep. if u keep a softie-dominated tank, my best bet is that u will not need a CR, coz the calcium depletion rate will not be very high. but if u do hv a sps, lps, clams dominated tank then u might wanna consider running a CR. not forgetting coralline algae oso deplete Ca level in the tank quite fast.
  3. juz attach the clam to a pc of LR. whether a clam is healthy or not, can be judge by the appearance of its mantles. u can oso test it by placing ur hand directly over ur tank, thus blocking the light source from the clam. if the clam reacts fast, i guess it is doing alright.
  4. those greedy damsels will be enticed by almost any kind of fish food.
  5. flubberina13 is doing a bulk order from marinedepot. contact her. Here is the bulk order info. Here is thr info for sea swirl from marine depot.
  6. co2 passes thru the CR from the bottom up. thus reacting wif the media to produce the desired effluent. The co2 is controlled by solenoid valve regulator or by precision needle valve control.
  7. i beg to differ. i think it shld be at least 2/3 the surface area of ur main tank and if u hv the luxury of space, go for as large as possible.
  8. IMHO, juz use normal grade zero sand. but u will hv to wait for it to mature. btw, how big is ur refugium? u do know that ur refugium has to be at least 60 to 70% of the surface area of ur main tank to work.
  9. bro, sorry, but i cannot help it, but ur avatar really resembles u......... no offence.
  10. u hv not taken in the replacement cost for bulbs.
  11. ur intention is to go sps right? for a 5 footer, i still find that MH is the way to go lol. u r going to hv a chiller so there shld be no heat dissipation concern here.
