  1. use the pencil and write till u see HELP ME, then send it up again. this time round, u will see HELP ME with a skull (*)
  2. got it liao....... number is: 4357*63
  3. absolutely possible. the crowd is very bad during the morning/evening when ppl go to/off work. esp for train services serving within tokyo itself. *mutters*.........
  4. anyone knows where to go from here?
  5. this is what i used to do. if the ric is oredi attached to a small pc of LR/coral chip, then proceed to use superglue to attach to the place u want. but if not, i wld not dare to try, coz of the toxicity (if any) the superglue will hv on the ric.
  6. Hi DB, no worries at all. the method i hv mentioned, is improvised and copied over from what i hv read in CORALS Magazine, Vol. 2. no problem wif rusting if the material used to pin the frags down r high grade stainless steel. pinning a frag down with a needle, thus piercing a small hole is negligible when u consider fragging methods for rics into the equation. i wld say fragging causes even greater injury and stress if not done correctly. isolating the ric and letting it attach to a small pc of LR is th best way, but juz that it takes a longer time. juz me 2 cents.

  8. IME, montipora sp. r less light demanding when comapred to acropora sp.
  9. cyanobacteria aka red slime algae. do a search for cyano in SRC b4 it gets worse.
  10. My advice: tompang all ur precious corals wif a reefer u trust. leave it as a FOWLR for 1 week. feeding on an auto feeder. this way, u dun even hv to switch on ur lights for a week will do ok. else, get someone to go over to ur place. dun leave things to chance. Murphy knocks anytime of the day, anywhere, esp when there is no one at home. juz me 2 cents.
  11. Geez...... anyone managed to kena the 9+ goals btw Spurs and Arsenal last weekend?
  12. u can either chisel it off the LR or slice the ric off at the stem, as close to the LR as possible. after slicing it off, do a brief dip in lugol's solution to rid infection. IMHO, i prefer the former method. little stress induced, less worry.
  13. may i ask how does caulerpa sp. inhibits coralline algae growth?

  16. not necessarily true on the fact that u'll hv to get those lugol's solution that u dose often. it really depends on how concentrated it is. This is what WMR Lugol's Plus claims: Lugol's Plus Iodine Solution has been developed from day one as the best Iodine supplement available and offers these features: Safer to use than Lugol's Solution, less oxidative Contains more total Iodide without affecting pH Contains proprietary Halide Complex with Bromine and Fluorine More economical, now in a 2oz. glass bottle with eyedropper I hv used this as the only iodide supplement since i started. no problem with it at all. all my shrimps molted wif no difficulties. i think at the end of the day, it juz boils down to individual preferences, i m a lazy reefer. thus, i prefer weekly dosing. agree on the point that if you miss a dose do not double the dose the next time. Just dose the normal dosage. Overdosing of Lugol's solution is bad for the reef.
  17. similar to the higher range deltec skimmers. 1 skimmer body wif 2/3/4/5/6 needlewheel inputs and pumps. 1 feed pump. my opinion will be the same as that of weisoon. IME, previously, i hv tried running 2 HOT skimmers in my tank. a prizm and a Aqua C Remora. 1 seems to outdo the other most of the time. finally, once and for all, i decided to replace both HOT skimmers wif a H&S needlewheel. it does a better job than having 2 HOT skimmers. my 2 cents.
  18. if they r still stressed, they wun eat. try cyclop-eeze to entice them to eat.
  19. AED = United Arab Emirates Dirhams as of today, 1.00 AED = 0.446542 SGD btw, go to the link and take a look at the prices of the marine fish there. ........ faint. Royal Gramma = AED 30 = S$13.40 .......... darn cheap but, flame angel = AED 270 = S$120.60......... madness.
