forgotten to add that the chiller runs on an external thermostat controller FOX-1004. u can now set ur temp controller down to 0.1 degree celcius.

hi, selling my standby Atman chiller for S$250 (nego). age of chiller: 1yr + old. chiller actual usage: 6 mths + diff btw age of chiller and actual usage is bcoz chiller broke down after 6mths usage and i did not send it for repair till 3wks ago. now it is in excellent working condition.

1st, vacuum. 2nd, use a long bristle paintbrush. soak it with soap water and clean ur whole condenser. that's how i do it.

though it's a wild guess, told u i suspect it's bristleworms liao....... but i really did not expect it to be.

choke the condenser rather than the condenser fan. try to clean the condenser abt 6 to 9 mths as a general rule of the thumb.

upz. hv juz gotten assurance from Pac Coo man today that the warranty for this chiller will be extended for another 4 more months since he has juz serviced the chiller last mth. that's 5 months warranty!!!

if u r talking abt the built in controller, e.g. Red Sea Aquazone Plus; it does really pose a problem. the flaw is that the controller cannot be calibrated, there is simply no such function with the Red Sea unit. good news is the Aquazone Plus unit that i've got is already abt 1.5yrs old with the same old original probe (i am the 2nd owner). juz calibrated the probe a couple of wks back with 475mV calibration solution. the resulting reading from the calibration is 468mV. a deviation of only 7mV. not too bad for a unit/probe that's 1.5 yr old. but i can't say the same for RAV-65, results varies. if u r gonna connect the ozoniser to ur skimmer intake, do make sure ur skimmer, airline, etc r made of ozoneproof material. use carbon to remove excess ozone, etc. as for orp controller, u can check out the milwaukee instruments SMS510 or SMS 125.

i placed my domestic Pac Coo chiller in my balcony ever since i re-setted up my tank. no problem so far. Juz make sure that rain does not get into the electronic thermostat controller. the circuitry within the Pac Coo chiller is also placed in such a way that it is high within the chiller casing itself. it is unlikely that the main circuitry will come into contact with rain or condensate. As for dust and dirt, whether u place ur chiller indoor or outdoors; dust and dirt will still be accumulated at the cooling fins of the condenser in due time. when this happens, air passage thru the condenser (driven by ur condenser fan) is blocked and significantly reduced.

bro, FYI. amongst the locally available ozonisers, there r only Red Sea, Aquamedic and Sanders. Enaly as u might hv already known is ordered from overseas. Out of the 4 units, only Red Sea Aquazone Plus models comes with in-built ORP control. Aquamedic, Sanders and Enaly do not. u will hv to get a seperate ORP controller if u wanna run with electronics. Price-wise, Enaly is the most economical.
