slow and steady does it...... dun stock up too fast...... about 2 to 3 pcs of corals and 1 to 2 LS per wk will do fine...... but wait till ur tank cycle finish or else beware tank crash!!!!
as for ur question on hang on skimmer, hmmm........ i m using red sea prizm skimmer....... not as bad as what a lot of reefers said...... u can try that....... or u can go for the remora c pro...... if u can afford it. red sea prizm cost about 180, remora c think cost ard 350++
for algae eater, u can try kole yellow eye tang or algae blenny. both r very effective!!! but algae blenny damn ugly looking!!!!
for sand-shifter, u can try a sand shifter starfish or some gobies, for me, my golden head sleeper goby and spotted mandarin r constantly playing wif my sand bed.
but IMO, 2 little corals, keep adding them!!!! and is that a leather i c in ur tank??? dangerrous when they die!!!! threw mine away long ago..... regretted buying it in the 1st place
normally, i would leave my bag of newly acquired fish in my tank for about 30 to 45 minutes...... adding 10% of my own tank water every 10 mins up to 50%. then slowly release the fish into the tank...... all these normally done at night...... seems to hv work out for me alright so far.
thks a million blue tang....... as for the rest of the comments, thks i will keep them in mind....... but at the moment, will still keep all my ls........ should be getting 2 T5s end of the mth..... waiting for bonus!!!!! once again, thks every one......... by the way, what corals in my tank r considered lps???? can someone pls enlighten me!!!!
considering to purchase 2 t5s to add to my 2 fl now....... wonder if it does any good...... dun wanna waste monies....... no monies liao...... 2 T5 = 39 x 2 = 78W
plus what i hv now will be a total of 128W!!!
currently, i m still using 2 x 25W FL (10000k and 420 actinic blue). and my corals seems to hv open up nicely so far for 2 to 3 mths now....... so i dun c the need to upgrade to t5 at the moment. what do u think????
to bwilly,
from what i've read from the internet, about 1.25 to 1.5 pounds of LR per gallon of water will work out nicely...... and if i did my maths right, my tank is about 40 gallons, so roughtly i need 55 pounds of LRs, which is about 25kg
