  1. the lifespan of a cleaner wrasse aka doctor fish does not last more than 2 to 3 mths. most lfs owners will tell u that if they r kind enuff. after they finish their jobs eating the parasites on ur fishes body, they will hv nothing more to eat. that's what i heard from most lfs owners.
  2. juz buy a plastic cotainer with a cap. drill a hole in the cap and another hole about 5 to 10 cm from the bottom. insert a on / off valve at the bottom hole. seal wif silicon or super glue. add in kalk solution and control the flow thru the on off valve. presto!!! ur diy kalk dripper.
  3. Hi all, For those who r looking for medication which r absolutely reef safe (including all inverts.) to treat ich. u can try waterlife myzaxin, octozin as cures and paragon as a tonic. these range of medication r quite difficult to hv. i've been to petm*art a couple of times for the past 2 mths but still no stock. went to a planted tank shop opp. jln besar stadium yesterday and found waterlife products there...... not much left though. the shop is very near harleq*in marine. name of the planted tank shop i think is plantas aquar*a. owner's name is alan. ask him direct for the medication. think they r not open on sunday though. i m not marketing this shop. juz trying to help those that r trying to find the above mentioned products to combat ich. cheerz!!! happy combating ich!!!!
  4. juz a thought, why dun u spread out the clams instead of crowding them together. IMO, think it will look nicer.
  5. how about those that i m currently hving? r they enuff for LPS, mushies and clams???
  6. hi, what kind of lights do i need if i only hv LPS and mushies in my tank. r the ones i m hving enuff??? or do i need to upgrade to t5?
  7. amk ave 4 blk 114 sell giant sri lankan fire shrimp. which is oso a cleaner shrimp. for i think 16 to 18 bucks.
  8. dunno if its reef safe or not. couldnt find anything on it on the web. but it is stated on the bottle that it does not contains copper. cost about 30 bucks a bottle. so far, i hv tried dosing a bit into my aquarium. no ill effects so far from fish, inverts or corals. hope it works...
  9. what lights u intend to change to???

  11. forgotten to add salifert "stop parasites"
  12. use some reef safe medication. but u gotta go find out which is really reef safe. some medication u can try r: waterlife myxazin, octozin, paragon
  13. u can get most of the stuff from p*tmart. reasonable price for hardwares.
  14. use a hang on skimmer on the back of ur tank...... not space consuming at all. get a aqua c remora if u hv no budget.
  15. dun fret too much get the best testkits u can find and patience go a long way!!!
  16. go to SRC sponsor bio ocean, they hv refugium for sale there and they will oso tell u what to do wif it...... think a medium sized refugium there cost roughly about 100++
  17. dun think ur problem come from the lights....... i hv 1 non branching octopus for 2 mths liao and i m only using ZooMed coral sun and ocean sun FLs. yet they r doing fine and even growing.......
  18. even if kalk increases ur calcium level, it doesnt increase it by much right? if u really wanna raise calcium, then u should use calcium. IMO that is....
  19. very troublesome isnt it??? getting a air driven skimmer doesnt cost alot 2!!! juz get the weipro which so many reefers hv recommended......
  20. dosing kalk only maintains the calcium level in ur tank and not increasing it........ dosing calcium, like what it says increases the calcium level in ur tank.
  21. in the long run, the wooden diffuser will hv slime and algae on it, thus affecting its performance...... no more fine little tiny bubbles.
