  5. hi bro, nice to see ur setup. meanwhile, keep us posted wif ur updated pics. catch up wif u when i'm back in dec.
  6. well, if u r going to hv juz a small LR wif macroalgae, then no point right? juz ask urself how much good will it do....... u do know the considerations of having a refugium. then wif a 1" sandbed in the sump, might as well dun hv sandbed better right? juz me 2cents......
  7. hi alan, u r not going to hv dsb or LRs in ur sump r u? coz ur macro algae area seems a little limited to me.
  8. juz adding to marcvelous comments, with the roman water columns without overflow box, it's gonna provide u with superb sound effects 24/7. not trying to discourage u, but juz stating what problems u might be facing in future.
  9. judginf from the photos, with limited accessibility due to the light mountings and depth of tank, u r really going to hv a hard time touching the bottom of ur sand bed, even if ur sandbed is 6" thick IMHO.
  10. Sigh.....Another bad experience by a fella reefer. but a hobbyist who starts out in this hobby irregardless of having any marine keeping knowledge should oso ensure the intergrity of the things he purchased. he should not let pass whatever is missing or not new. Insist on new parts and for missing items to be replaced. else dun make any payment. I wun deny that there r some LFSs that r way out of their league when it comes to monies making, but at the end of the day, we reefers hv to protect ourselves from them by being firm. juz me 2 cents.
  11. hmmm, IMHO, looks evil. kill it, dun give chance. later regret. u can try some of the crab traps that some of the reefers invented. e.g. chicken essence bottle method. do a search on crab traps. u will find more methods. links on crab traps. http://www.sgreefclub.com/forum/index.php?...97&hl=crab+trap http://www.sgreefclub.com/forum/index.php?...34&hl=crab+trap
  12. well, for me, i used to dose DT, bioplankton, coralplankton, cyclopeeze and GPs (in mixed micron sizes) to my tank, so even if my corals do thrive, i do not know which plankton actually contributes to it practically. but this is what DT claims: Phytoplankton provides essential nutrition for reef and sand dwelling invertebrates. Including: clams, scallops, many corals, gorgonians, fan worms, tunicates, sea apples and other cucumbers, some sponges and zooplankton including rotifers. By enriching rotifers or bring shrimp, this nutrition can be made available to fish and larger invertebrates.
  13. personally, i use kalk paste. juz aim properly with ur syringe. so far, it has worked for me getting rid of those pesky glass anemones.
  14. if u wanna kill it, use the old kalk paste injection method (normally used to exterminate aiptasia).
  15. bro, there is oredi 1 such thread. see the link below. http://www.sgreefclub.com/forum/index.php?...19363&hl=blasto
