  1. well, it's all up to the individual bro. but dun u find 3ft lightings sticking out its ends on a 2ft tank a little unsightly? juz me 2 cents.
  2. 8 mths??? he must be joking!!! more like once fortnightly or at least once a month.
  3. it could be ur compressor not working or not enuff refrigerant in ur chiller.
  4. IME, u do not necessarily need to achieve zero nitrate levels to hv ur sps coloured up. I hv never managed to achieve zero nitrate levels. but keep it as low as possible.
  5. find those mh that can mount onto the tank lah........ as long as ur tank glass thickness pass the mark, can withstand the weight of the mh. u can use a 3 ft mh set provided that u find the correct mounting or do some mod to it.
  6. curing ich? IME, the cleaner shrimp. but dun count on it. it is better to get ur water parameters right and boost the immunity of ur LS to solve the ich crisis. btw, u can get more info on the shrimps from www.liveaquaria.com
  7. yup, use newspaper wif glass cleaning detergent shld do the trick.

  11. IMHO, dun need to get marine branded RO/DI unit. juz go shop for an industrial one will do. not forgetting, using RO/DI unit, u will waste water, unless u hv use for the discarded water from the RO/DI unit. resins needs to be changed periodically as well. Juz me 2 cents, not against RO/DI users/sellers but rather to show the "hidden costs".
  12. definitely yumas judging from the pics. anyway upz for ur sales.
  13. PAR has nothing to do with the wattage of ur lights. colour temperature, e.g. 6.5kk, 10kk, 12.5kk, 14kk, 20kk shld be the ones concerned.
  14. No worries, good luck hunting for ur new return pump.
  15. hi sugi, then it shld not be a problem. but do give considerations to the flowrate, price, wattage, head loss, authencity of manufacturer rated wattage and flowrate, etc. some china-made and taiwanese pumps r not rated as they r supposed to be. how abt the italian brand sicce suprema? it shld be within ur budget and it is rated at 4000L/Hr.
  16. IMHO, any kind of phytoplankton, if u overdose, bound to hv algae bloom. juz me 2 cents.
  17. the nassarius snail is a detritus eater aka scavenger. the mexican snail is an algae grazer.
