  1. Hi Sunnymau: More pics to come for sure! Hi admiratian: Oh that is a frag plug which was detached frm one of the frags so I just dump in there! Btwn the monti cap is starting to color up, digi not yet! Hi weeseng: One of the few tough ones that survive the itch! Probably is happy and RED with excitement to feed on the pods. I do feed the dsb with pallets, any reason why no sexy shrimp in there?
  2. Read in the net not to use carbon dosing with dsb but so far so good. Worm activities can be seen nw and pods of different spieces (?) crawling all over. So far most cyno at dsb has cleared dramatically. The pair of sexy shrimp did help to eat the cyno (To my suprise). Cheato doesn't seem to do well in my sump frm day 1. Seems to disintegrate n drift away all the time. Tried getting frm reefer and various LFS but no good results. Hence given up on cheato n tried reef nutrition red algae n grape and again, disintegrating too. Perhaps some leakage of nutrients frm this plants ... Using 250ml of Rowas n change mthly. Half a cup of carbon in a bag and change mthly since using carbon dosing nw. Salinity : 1.022 No3: unknown Kh: 8.4 Ca: 380 Mg: 1320 Po4: unknown Not measuring no3 and po4, shall leave it to my eyes for observation.. Hehe... Room for improvement as far as salinity and Ca are concerned.
  3. Some Sps bought over the weekend at pinnacle... Also some zoas n Sps frags frm bro thairun and Dr Cedric ..
  4. You can see the tank has less brown n green hair algae nw except those on the rock.. So I have increased the intensity and duration of the photosynthesis period... Due to the very warm wheather these days, the sunpower unit pop out a exclamation sign when the working temp exceeds 45 degree C. With the standing fan, managed to reduced to 41 degree C without overheating the unit.
  5. With the recently itch that broke out abt a mth ago, lost quite a no. of fishes. Itch started frm YT after I try to remove the cyno that was covering more than 80% of the dsb. Well, till today's things r getting slightly better with 5% water change every week, dosing of bacteria daily (50 to 70% of the recommended dosage) . Right frm day one, been dosing special blend, mb7 and prodibio. Lately started with polylab reef resh carbon dosing. Into the fourth week and dosed based on 100g. Water seems clearer and more skimmate that I need to wash the cup twice a week. Since then, tune for dry skimming to reduce maintainence. Tank is into the fourth month n I think the new tank syndrome is almost kept at bay, well not quite yet. There are still some water parameters that I need to tweak n doing it slowly. Also bought 3 x algae snails and another 3 abalone frm recent Irwana recent Cebu shipment and u can see green hair and brown algae are almost gone. Some leftovers at the rock but I reckon it soon be gone with the starving cleaning crew. Lastly bought grotech A, B, C and started to dose yest 50% of the recommended dosage .
  6. Jaws drop and pants wet. haha.....Just by looking at it makes my mon-bluez go away...haha
  7. Just to share, bought RF Genesis (bacteria) and dose last sat. Notice skimmer start to skim much more. So much so that i have to wash and empty the cup every 3 days instead of the usual once a week. Am now tuning down the skimmer for more dry skimmate. Prior to that, i have been dosing special blend, mb7 once a week and prodibio Biodigest once very fortnightly for abt 2 mths and will continue to dose, hoping for more diversity? haha...... Water seems a tad clearer since is only the fourth day of dosing. But i do haf some green slime algae in the Display tank and red cyno covering some portion of the dsb. Have some corals in the tank and seems to open slightly bigger. I do not measure no3 and po4. As tank is only in the 3rd mth running, will update again. Overall seems like a good product despite the price tag!

  11. Gd Morning Bro! Good news is the 6 carberryi and 1 evansi are still alive! haha.... All eating mysis, seaweed and sniffing out the pellets except for 1 lone ranger male carberryi who prefer to hang out by himself at one spot and refused to eat. Evansi eating too but slow......

  21. And the external controller bought frm Derek to cntrl the hailea 0.5hp chilller. Kick in for abt 1 hr & 15 mins. Able to substain temp frm 26 to 27 degree for 3.5 hrs, without T5 running. Vast improvement in my opinion. See hw it goes when the T5 r switch on.
