Dodo, for canister filter u should try Petmart at Serangoon, its beside Rainbow and the canisters are very good priced. For protein skimmer you could probably look for there too - can try Orca (not sure they have or not, but normally sells at about $20-22). The Orca can be quite big so if u dun like it, u can go for the Sanders one which is slimmer. Sealife at Balestier has Sanders skimmer but they cost more than the Orca. As these are counter current skimmers, u would need an airpump (with 2 airholes) to run it. I tink some of the guys also mention last time that the airpump must be powerful one. I got my 4-way ocean free air pump from Petmart, only $20, cheap cheap...

hmmmm the fireshrimp stays upside down hanging from the bottom of the rock just beside the clownfish... when he starts to move out onto the sand/climb on top of the rock, the clownfish rushes out at him! bad fish! poor fireshrimp!

Pospeh, i second u on this! I think its simply unforgivable that the high-tech naval ship can come into such disaster, not from enemy attack but a giant tanker! Someone, or some people, must be made responsible for this - 3 lives lost and 1 person unaccounted for. Really sad...

my clownfish seem to hate my fireshrimp and charges him everytime he sees him - i wonder y....any of u guys had the same experience?

hmmm in a way i guess its true most of the LFS are grimy, but I suppose it helps keep prices down abit....if everyone gonna go on aircon, great shopping experience and the proper works, think prices will rise...? for me most impt thing is quality of livestock and reasonable price, i dont mind the extra labour, hardwork and grime that comes with it..!

I just got my first coral, and was thinking whether the clown will take to it. So far it hasnt but what if next time there are more corals n he starts disturbing them? tat wouldnt be very good! So do u guys think its good to add in an anemone now for him so that he can get married and stick to it first?

hmmmmm mi bicolored blenny didnt eat the mysis shrimp! mabbe its the usual thing of not eating immed. after purchase, but i saw him come out of his hole to nibble at the rocks a few times oredi.... could he be eating some algae on the rock?

i saw the flame scallop in harlequins, looked real cool..... any of u guys kept one? heard its quite difficult to keep alive! but damn nice got electricity somemore! (wonder if can use against my enemies?) *KiDdINg*

oic.....very informative! i just came back from harlequins and saw that they mixed frozen brine shrimp and mysis shrimp for feedin.... think i might wan to try tat... if live brine shrimp is not a necessity, mabbe i forget it...too much trouble since mi house here no LFS which carry live BS....

i just bot mi bi-colored blenny from harlequin for $8.... now its doin great in my tank.... yes, its very cute! but also weird personality... it started hiding in the rocks for awhile and adopted several holes as temp homes... i saw it went into one fave hole and cleared the hole of sand by ###### n spitting them out... real cool..... it even got pissed wif mi clownfish when touring the LR near the clown's territory... when the clown got close, the blenny nipped at him once or twice...! didnt know tat it can be so fierce! However, i was told by the harlequin pple that i can feed the blenny mysis shrimp? I hope tts correct? cos i saw on website its a herbivore!

so u mean u buy live brine shrimp for ur tank? wat i meant was u throw in the shrimp w the water or u strain them? i suppose strain rite...hehe common sense... does every fish go for the brine shrimp?

Hi everyone, being thinking about the sea monkeys (hope i am correct abt the name)... mi fren bot some live ones n showed them to me, they look brown/red in color but fragile... anyway, just wana ask: 1. Do u all buy live brine shrimp to throw into ur tank? 2. Issit necessary, as in corals MUST HAVE brine shrimp for food (those tat need feeding at least)? how abt certain fishes, do they require BS?
