Hi everyone, been tinking of getting a 17inch LCD monitor. AFter hunting around, seems tat philips suits mi budget. Is philips LCD panel good? Other brands like samsung, NEC more ex leh...no choice!

i guess i am the slow one here.... 4 months into mi tank and i have only 1 clownfish and 2 shrimps, some snails... anyway i believe tts how the hobby is supposed to be, patience and more patience!

i was hoping the iceprobe is nicer looking n hidden away as compared to fans? besides, mi tank veri small, oni 2.5 ft....

btw heard so much about grounding the tank due to stray voltage? how real is this possibility/threat?

robe the tank pics u were showing, all the corals spiky n pointed - are these acros that i hear so mani of u guys rave about? hard coral?

hmmm i cant upgrade to a bigger tank when i am not even thru mi first SW tank in a year! arrgh! *hands itchy*

tks. in fact i got mi clownfish from kwangs, and i must say its in very good shape...definitely kwangs for me when buying healthy fish at reasonable prices...marinelife also veri good in this sense. too bad gonna change boss, wonder if standard will still be there...

i tink the LH is getting to be a real serious source of feeder fish! my fren was raving about his female LH today laying eggs (first time for him) and he was so excited.... i was trying hard not to yawn...

kel, tks for the tip. since mi frens would drag me along to see LH (n i always go nicely w them since they r mi frens), this would prob be a good thing to loook out for... btw chris where u bot ur mandarin? not every LFS have those tat eat frozen brine shrimp....! btw, do mandarins eat mysis shrimp?

no pic. but like i have said, its a normal plastic tank like those five plan type, wif black base. comes wif a cover, i have not used it before... i stay in bukit panjang....

all this going on about chillers are making me confused but gian oredi.... can someone let me in on the different technologies used, brand+pricing, maintainence (read some need to use coolant)? like i know teco is good but ex? eido not sure, hailea is cheap.....? and wat is h/p? wat does this mean?

hi tks for both ur replies: BB: superglue was wat i wanted to use to glue the clips to the hood, but since u said it may melt i would use screws instead...the scary part is drilling holes in my fixture! gotta take it down n see... i tink got enuff space but not confirmed...need to see how big is ballast and switch...worse come to worse mi switch dun put inside the fixture lor, leave it outside... Hongxian: regarding the bulb, i feel zoomed bulb sold by sea-life is expensive! (in fact, i feel most of their things are). anyway i heard u guys toking about some philips brand or sthg? $22 only? 15w kinda little, wats the max wattage for the actinic blue FL? 36w? Thanks!

bluebeard yeah, this morning cant find the both of them....both went into the rocks oredi....but still can see them here n there...so far so good... hope they do some cleaning! didnt buy them for nthg...haha

ok guys, i wana mod mi light set and go for an additional FL actinic tube (so no more false actinic for me since i using a combo PL now). My end result would be a FL actinic blue and a PL 10,000 daylight - both can be turned on individually, much better than my current combo bulb. Heres my plan: get the clips, ballast and switch. drill holes in my fixture and screw the clips on. connect to ballast n switch, switch to remain outside of the light fixture. Here r my questions: 1. issit a good way to mount the tube? how about super glue? (i didnt tink tts safe either) 2. if i go for the clips, where can i find them? normal lighting shop? 3. the e-ballast i heard can find from nature @$15. is that a good deal? 4. where can i get the switch? how much? 5. does the PL and FL tubes require a "safe distance" btw them? i reckon after fixing it up, not much space left...veri narrow gap...will mi tank go up in flames? 6. which brand of actinic blue FL is good? how much and where can i get it?
